So last night my partner and I went on a sugar-bender and ate candy as our dinner and George tried to get in on the action.

George seriously should have been called "pig", "oink", "hog", "seafood", or "ham"

because he sees food and he immediately tries to eat it... OR he'll beg for it.

Well, he saw our candy... and that little booger ran off with one of my starburst candies (wrapper and all :| ) in his mouth!!! I chased him all over the place, and he FINALLY dropped it and hid under the coffee table.

Most people who come here will hear us say this a few times a day "GEORRGE!!!!" lol.

He is such a pig. He eats HALF of what we put in our kitty's wet food dish... and leaves the other four cats to eat whatever is left over!! We've taken to locking him in the bathroom till the other cats are finished eating.

So, Angel and Shylo have teamed up and combined forces. Shylo was begining to be a little overwhelmed about taking care of 7 kittens, and Angel was getting lonely in her room by herself for the most part.

So, I moved Angel to the kitty-room with Shylo, and after a few confusing moments (confusing for the moms that is), Angel happily settled in, and made herself at home... for all of 5 seconds... she then moved her kittens into Shylo's box, and started cleaning Shy's babies, and nursing her own at the same time.

So, I modified the box a little by turning it on its side so that its wider than it is tall, and the two moms are happily helping each other clean the kittens. Already, I've noticed that both Angel and Shylo are less reluctant to leave them to eat or use the litter box, and they are cleaning each other as well... making their coats nice and shiny! I think this will work out well.

I took a picture of it, and here are a few other pics of the babies.
Please visit my website for more information at http://www.blueskyragdolls.com

Please copy and paste the questionnaire that's on my "Available" page to a word document, fill it out, and email it to me.

I have a pretty good clue on what colors these guys are.

Seal point (mitted?) male. I know he looks like a blue in this pic, but trust me, his ear-rims turned this color about 12 hours after birth and they are getting darker by the day.

Flame point (mitted?) His ears are starting to show a very light peachy color to them... my last litter had creams in it and they werent determined as creams till about 5 weeks of age.

Cream pointed (mitted?) he is the exact same color as the three creams from my last litter.

So, as I sit here, anxiously awaiting Shylo's first kitten to make his/her appearance into the world.. it got me thinking... Shylo is HUGE.. like.. she could EASILY have 8 kittens inside of her.. either that or 6 very large kittens... either way... I believe she's definitely having more than 5.

Anywho.. thinking that Shylo was going to have her paws full when it comes to these beauties... it got me thinking about the record number of kittens born to one cat. I believe it was 20 or something absurd like that. Then I got thinking again.. what's the record number of kittens born to a ragdoll? Ragdolls are large cats, and they have large kittens, making their average litter size approximately 5 right? So... what's the ragdoll record? And how would it be possible to find out what it is (short of calling every blasted breeder in the world to ask what their largest litter was).

The largest litter to date that I've had was 5 (not counting the one that is not yet born that is). A friend of mine has recently had a litter of 7 which is the largest litter I've yet to see in the ragdoll breed.

What about the other breeders... what's your largest litter so far?
As for you pet owners, in your many quests to find your raggie friends... what was the largest litter that you've come across?

For me, its 7 all were born perfectly healthy and all are doing very well as we speak.

The smallest litter born to one cat is of course one! lol. But really! What are your thoughts on this topic? Sure.. there's the non-raggie who had the huge number of 20 give or take a couple... but because this is a ragdoll forum.. lets keep the topic about raggies.

Hehe.. man I'm tired

Hello,

Yesterday was the kids first day back to school. They were both excited to be back. I have to say the Summer just didn't seem long enough with them. I think I am feeling a little bit sad this year, as this is the last year for Ashlan to be in elementary school. I can't believe next year it will be a new school to her. She will be 11 years old in less than a month. I am a parent of a "tween".:)
Joey is in 3rd grade this year, he was a bit more nervous going back, but he had a great first day.
Ashlan was in Honor Choir last year, and she is trying out again this year. She is also thinking of running for class president. She was beat out last year by one vote....LOL She still had fun with her posters and speech.
I took some photos of them yesterday, so I will have to upload and share them. We have made a tradition of getting their photos each year, the first day of school, and it is so neat to look back at the photos and see how much they have grown and changed.
Anyone else have their kids starting school yet?

I'm hoping that someone can help me with this problem. We have 2 Ragdolls. Both are approx. 2 yr. old males. The problem is, is that one of them may be overweight because he is constantly butting into the food bowl of the other one's. So then the smaller has to move over to the other bowl to eat. I have noticed that the (fatter raggie) seems to be getting bigger and bigger! The smaller one seems to stay the same weight. Our big guy weighs 20 lbs., the smaller (12 lbs.)

One other thing, our larger cat is healthy but lazy! He has a super disposition, but just darn lazy. Can anyone give me some advise on how to make him stop trying to eat out of both bowls of food?
Thanks

One other thing, our larger cat is healthy but lazy! He has a super disposition, but just darn lazy. Can anyone give me some advise on how to make him stop trying to eat out of both bowls of food?
Thanks

Hi, my name is Melissa. I adopted an adult male Ragdoll cat almost a year ago. It has been the best $20 I have ever spent. He is wonderful. I have wanted a Ragdoll since I first saw pictures of one, and then even more after I went to a cat show and saw the breed in person. Then when I seen a ad posted on petfinder.com for a Ragdoll with supplies for only $20 adoption fee I jumped on it. His name was Casper, but I changed it to Sebastian. He is gorgeous. He is now 7 years old. The lady told me he was only pet quality because of grey markings on his back legs. That was fine with me, what counts is his personality. I do admit though, the blue eyes get me. What I need help with his his color and markings. I am thinking he is Bluepoint Bi-Color but I am not sure. Can someone, anyone, please look at his pics and let me know what the color and markings are? Thank you so much.

We've had our new kitten (he is 14 weeks old) almost two weeks now! Fred, a blue point male who I think is very handsome! At this point the only problem we are having is with our 11 year old miniture schnauzer named Spock. Fred accepted the dog very quickly and when they are on the couch together he will even groom the dog and he likes to lay next to him also. This all happens under very close supervision as I do not trust Spock to be left alone with Fred yet. To that end the dog spends the day downstairs and the cat spends his day upstairs when we can not be there to supervise. I know this can't happen until the dog can be trusted or his freedom (last resort) is further restricted but at what age is it normal for a kitten to have free run of the house? As a side note we live in an old farm house with lots of hiding spaces!!!!

Well I was looking for advice on litter so I thought that this was the best place to come. some might remember that although Georges occasional sneezing was the only sign of possible URI we did try antibiotics a couple times. So...now we think it is probably allergies. Possibly to pollen, maybe litter dust? so...after reading a recent post on here about Feline Pine I had tried it. George was great about using it right away. I had put it completely in one litter pan and was following mixing in the other. Like I said...George was fine...however my other cat was not. She didnt like it at all. I ended up keeping on just feline pine (only george uses) and one the old stuff (fresh step / scoop away). They both use the old one.

I really love the feline pine and wish I could get them both to use it, however my persian did poop on the floor once because she didnt want to use even the mixture. I have been fortunate to never before have any litter box problems and really dont want to start. I have heard some of the other "natural" litters dont do well with odor. I was curious what others have tried. I do have to say... Feline Pine is AMAZING at controlling odor.

I've posted this question on a regular cat forum, but thought I could get more valuable info. on a forum specific to the Ragdoll breed. We currently have a 17-year-old female Ragdoll who has been my absolute baby her entire life. We also have a 1.5-year-old male (mixed shorthair breed), who is considerably larger than our older Ragdoll, and tries to play with her against her wishes. Now, we are considering adding a female, 5-year-old Ragdoll to the mix, with the knowledge that our older cat is in failing health and will likely not be with us much longer.

Question is, do you think it's a bad idea to introduce a 5-year-old female Ragdoll to our current mix of pets? We also have a 45-lb dog who gets along great with the cats. With the laid back nature of a Ragdoll, do you think she would blend well with our non-Rag male?

Any experiences and input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
