Ok, so I readily admit it...I'm a Twilighter! My mom sent me the first book, I finished it the night I received it, went online right after to order the rest off of Amazon but then couldn't wait for them to ship and so I drove to the bookstore to buy them again the next day! I had the whole series read in a single weekend! So here it is, the opening day of the second movie of the series...and I have tickets to the 1pm show! I know I'm going to have to deal with loads of screaming teenagers (I'm 30) and I HATE seeing movies opening weekend because of crowds, but I can't help myself. Even knowing the first movie wasn't that good and I doubt this one will be either. Pathetic? Absolutely! But there it is. Wish me luck that I don't lose my sanity any further throughout the afternoon!

Sorry for the blurriness, but I just took this picture quickly so as not to disturb the girls. Other than the windowbed when they groom each other then one gets mad and leaves, I've never had the girls actually TOUCHING each other as they lay -- they may lay in close proximity, but not touch!! I was going down the stairs and found them on top of the chiffarobe together - ran back upstairs, grabbed the camera and snapped quickly. (Sorry about the wood that shows in the background - that's part of the sisal covered ramp I made them so they could get to the top of the chiffarobe)

Hi there,

Have a situation with Skyler (my 5 year old nuetered male) about the litterbox that is not his fault but need your advice. We have used a mixture we made up of scooping litter along with a corn litter combination for years and never had a problem with peeing outside the box. Last time we went to Petsmart they had a different brand of corn litter that we went ahead and bought. Last weekend when we dumped out their old litter that we do regularly to give them "fresh" we used the new corn. Both he and Maggie pooped outside the box. Mike went to Petco and found the original corn and we replaced the contents of the box back to the original mix.

Skyler has on occasion used our bath mat to poop....but very rarely. He used it again and also peeded. We put the mat in the washer and cleaned the surrounding area and sprayed with Nature's Miracle Stain and Odor Remover. Skyler is still going back to the mat daily for the past 4 days and has peed on the mat with some over flow on the carpet. We treat the area everytime and clean the rug.

Also did not know that the corn is worse for cat allergies...which is the reason we started using it because we thought it would help Maggie's asthma?!?

1) Should I stop using the corn now that I know it can make things worse for her ...or do you think that will throw them off more?

2) Should I go ahead and remove the hood off their litterbox they've always used to make it more attractive to them?

3)Should I use another urine cleaner spray in the bathroom area, and which one do you like?

4) Should we get another box and put it in front of the shower where the mat is?

Skyler has never done this until this past weekend when we made the mistake of using a different litter that neither of them liked. Maggie got over the change back to the correct mix right away ...but not so with him. We neeed your help!!!!! Have not punished him because he doesn't understand and it would only make the situation worse. Poor Skyler...poor us.
Thanks in advance,

I know that this question is not new... But hope that you will bear with me..
What is the most recommended kitty litter, esp for Ragdolls? Clumping or non-clumping type? For clumping type, it is of course very easy to scoop out the clumps daily, but what is the impact (to the health) if the cats accidentally ingest the sand while grooming themselves daily, esp in long term? For non-clumping type, there is going to be this tracking and dust issue. How does one clean the non-clumping type? Weekly change of sand?
What about the newer types of pine/corn pellets and recycled paper? Silica crystals? Are they good? Or just marketing strategies of introducing new stuffs?
Hope to get some advice/feedback here... Thks in advance!

Do you do the penguin walk? If there was a hidden camera in my home, the video of me would be hilarious. Since getting Gabriel and Gabbie, I do the penguin walk. I would describe it as a slow sort-of waddle. The penguin walk has become part of my routine since I almost stepped on one of my babies. Neither Gabriel nor Gabbie pay too much attention to the penguin walk....they are too busy playing! So, what would you see on the video? An overweight Southern girl from the US who loves her Raggies doing the penguin walk.

On the top is Sonny and on the bottom is Sergio. These are Debi's, a friend of mine, ragdolls. She went to the same breeder I am going to go to.

Sonny is a blue colorpoint and Sergio, I believe, is a Chocolate Colorpoint. He looks a lot like his father Count Chocula.

Aren't they lovely? They are both only a little over 1, I think.

Today we visited the kittens, the are almost 5 weeks old now.
Eddie is a blue mitted male with a blaze, he has a lot of fur and although the blaze is not really according to the standard, he has a very funny face:
Luna is Eddies sibbling. She is a blue tortie point female. She likes to cuddle a lot and she's very sweet. Her nose will probably be creme-blue and she has a beautiful creme-blue tail:

Thanksgiving Dilemma

Hello everyone! The thanksgiving holiday is drawing near, and I might be going out of town for a few days. The place I would be going to is about a 2 - 3 hour drive that goes through mountains. There is a probability of snow which would cause the drive to be near the 3 hour mark, otherwise if all is well the drive is 1.5 - 2 hours long.

I would be staying there for 2 nights and 3 days and I do have permission to bring Solo with me. I just worry that the long drive, change of scenery, then drive home might be too much stress for him. Plus there are two dogs and one other cat at the place I am going, so again not sure if Solo would be thrilled (although he might have a blast, I just don't know).

My question is, should I bring him? Leave him home? Hire a kitty sitter? Board him? What would you guys do?

I am leaning towards leaving him home, he is no longer a little pig since I got him an automatic food dish and so he will not starve... he might be depressed but I am sure he would get over it.

Thanks for any advice in advance!
