My Stanley was a sweet Norwegian Forest Cat. Tried so hard to keep him indoors but he would always sneak out. About 3 years ago was hit by a car right infront of our home in Maine. He was only eight years old. I miss him so much. He had the temperament of a Ragdoll and honestly if it weren't for his looks, I would swear he was one. He was also a solid 15lbs.

I have even better pictures somewhere that I need to scan to my computer. Will post when I can! :)

Teddy is 6 months old and 9 pounds now. He is so long and he realizes he can stand up and touch momma's stuff now. He thinks that's great fun too to watch momma freak out when he is chewing on one of her elephants or touching the betta tank on the desk.

Teddy doesn't have a little brother or little sister yet. It hasn't worked out for that and since he is six months old now I've decided to not get another kitten. I don't want Teddy to be offend and think he isn't the top kitty so we will be getting another dog. I'm thinking a Shih Tzu and will be talking to a lady that breeds them in my town. She will be having a litter next year around Teddy's birthday I think which is May. SO I will be playing the waiting game again.

Here are some pictures of Teddy. I am amazed at how beautiful he is and that he is mine. I'm a blessed mom for sure.

Sebastian Blue turns 1 Nov. 7th. He was very scrawny as a kitten, and came home with us sick, although we didn't know it then. His breeder really loves his cats, but he had 3 litters of kittens alone while we were there picking up Blue. I think Blue somehow fell under the radar. He was not at all affectionate, and couldn't stand being touched at all. He had giardia, and after he was cured, he became a different kitten. He still likes to be near, but not held, except on rare days when he will come for a cuddle. I make sure to mush him in my arms once a day regardless. I think he secretly longs for the loving. I can't believe how big he is at 15 lbs. I wonder how much he will weigh when he is done growing. His father is a monster of a male.
While he and Gussie get along great, he bites her too hard, and she prefers me as her #1. I feel sorry for him at times that he doesn't have another male to romp with, which is probably an excuse to adopt kitten #3 at some point.
We gave him his own laundry basket as a present, and he is over the moon with it.
Happy Birthday Blue. What a difference from 3 months to a year!!

Teddy's vet visit and report

So some you may know that Teddy hasn't been well the past week or so - vomiting, not peeing very often or very much, crouching down a lot, hoarse, and just generally not himself. As an aside, Teddy has calicivirus, so his eyes have been a little runny. He turns two in January.

I took him to the vet today, where he ran a full blood test and urinalysis, and I have the test results back from the vet. His urine is very concentrated, with high protein and blood levels, so essentially he has an inflamed bladder. Teddy has had cystitis in the past, but this time he wasn't in and out of the litter box constantly or peeing outside the box. The vet gave him an antibiotic shot. The bladder inflammation explains the low amount of pee and his crouching like “an old man” as the vet put it.

His blood work also shows he likely has the start of irritable bowel disease (I can't remember the specifics of the connection, but I do remember his BUN levels are higher than normal). Regarding the IBD, he likely developed an intolerance to the wet food he was eating, hence the throwing up. Unfortunately, there aren't any other wet foods that he's fond of! Thankfully though, the other blood results were normal.

That said, Teddy has a compromised immune system and likely the only way it will improve is through a special diet. The vet gave me a bunch of different foods to try (and I do mean try – I’m not optimistic with Mr. Picky Pants over here). One of the foods is the Medi-Cal gastro. I’ll see how things go with the food, but I’m not feeling overly optimistic right now given how fussy he is.

His tartar build up is also bad again on his back molars (this is from the calici), so he’ll need a dental again in the near future.

At least I know what's going on and hopefully can get this poor lad on the road to recovery. I trust my vet - he specializes in cats and is well respected in the city.

I did buy Teddy a new fountain today - the Drinkwell Platinum. So far, he's playing in the water and watching it, but I'm not sure how much he's actually drank.

Thanks everyone for asking about Teddy. I really appreciate it.

Just a quick question.

I know that it takes roughly 4 years for a Ragdoll to reach maturity.

What I would like to know is at what age do they tend to reach their 'real weight and size'? Give or take a bit more growing in the last few years?

I am very worried about Coco at the moment she is not well at all.
I have just come back from the vets and I have to go back next week. If her temperature is still high, she will be having some blood tests.
Has any one had any experience of FIP? How can she possibly have got it? Shes indoor only and my only cat.
I am feeling very worried, I would be grateful if any body could help me understand how she can catch it and what the symptoms are and is the prognosis always bad?

Does any one know of any Registered Ragdoll breeders or Ragdoll owners who live local to me? I would love to visit and know more about breeding.
I Live in Dunstable, Bedforshire. UK

Also do any American Breeders export kittens to the UK. If so how is it done?
American Ragdolls seem to be alot chunkier is that true?

Coco is 5 months old some and has been having some wet food, but this doesn't seem to agree with her. She has had a really upset stomach and foul smelling runny poos, she has been getting into a right old mess! So I thought I would get her some wipes to help her clean up. I couldn't believe how much they cost £5.99 for 100 Tushie Wipes!! Does any one know if it would be ok to use ordinary baby wipes as these are alot cheaper?
Also, should I bath her? Have I left it too late to start (5 months old). How often should she be bathed?
