New Here
Hello My name is Candice and I just recently joined this forum well actually today just couple hours ago lol. I have a 1 year old rag doll named Louie I got him a week ago I dont have papers the previous owner said they couldnt afford the papers which is ok by me since it isnt like I will be showing him in any shows or anything like that lol. I would like to know what coloring he is though I thought he would be a seal point but Im not sure. Louie was a runt of the litter and I knew his previous mom as a friend. We live in North Carolina Louie is a very out going cat with a lot of personality should I say lol he likes to play fetch and his eyes are just amazing Im not sure what the difference between the kinds of ragdolls there are hopefully I may be able to find some of that out here. I would like to get to know people here and hopefully make a few friends.
Sincerely
Candice & Louie

That certainly is cash strapped. Registration costs about $12. "Usually" this is an excuse and means the cats are not Ragdolls.

In any event, welcome and we will look forward to bigger pictures and to help you identify his color. He looks to be seal. He sounds a very nice addition to your family.

Best,
JanH

Ohhh, The person I got him from said that they had paid $500 and they wanted an extra $100 or so for the papers as well. I thought that had been a bit much but I had figured what do I know lol I have never really had to deal with papers in that area before, and oh he is quite an addition lol he is full of personality. I will try to get more better pictures I really need to go out and buy a camera lol. Thank you!
Sincerely
Candice & Louie

RE: New Here
Real breeders provide the papers to register the kittens. It costs the breeder $10 to register the entire litter. The breeder gets a blue slip for each kitten, which is given to the owner. The owner can register the individual kitten for $12. (These are in TICA, which is the most common registry for Ragdolls, but the costs are about the same in all associations.) This papers are extra fraud is used by Backyard Breeders who CANNOT register the kittens.

Best,
JanH

Hi Candice!

This doesn't mean he isn't a ragdoll -- it might just mean he isn't from champion blood lines and the breeder is not ethical etc. Smile But if he looks like one, talks like one, and loves you like one, there is no point in not saying that he is a ragdoll. It's not hurting anyone as long as you're not breeding him lol.

Welcome!
