I placed a sweet blue bicolor female kitten about 1 week ago with an older gentleman. He was buying her for his wife. A few days ago he emails me and said he wife didnt want "the present" and can I take her back. I assumed his wife knew about her kitten when he bought her.
I have her home here now and will find a new place for her as she is just 12 weeks old and spayed and ready to go. I would rather place her than have him do it. She seemed to fit right back in here and is playing and happy. My daughter named her Julia and is carrying her all over the place. I told her we really dont have room to keep her. The frustrating thing is that this kitten will have to adjust again to a new home. One should make sure that all in the household wants a pet before they bring home a pet. I will ask more questions next time. BlueBiGB.JPG (Size: 23.48 KB / Downloads: 42)

RE: Clients can be Frustrating!
Gail- I am so sorry, that is so frustrating! You go to all the trouble to make sure your kittens go to a great home and then...... People are so strange. I am sure her next home will be wonderful, and it sounds like your daughter is deciding your home is it!!

OMG!
People really shouldn't make gifts of pets without the participation of the intended recipient. That being said...who IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULDN"T want that sweetie. capitalization added by my fur friend Gray. His timing on the keyboard almost makes me think he knew what he was doing

I suppose you can just be thankful that they did not give her away on craigslist, drop her off at a shelter, or make her into a permanent "outdoor" cat.

She is just way too cute!!!

RE: Clients can be Frustrating!
She is such a little sweetheart, how any woman could not want is beyond me. It's good that they returned her so quickly though as at least you have a chance to find her a new home whilst she is still young. Good on you for taking her back too, I know some breeders wouldn't, although they are not the sort of breeders we want!!
I just love that third photo with her tongue out, she is adorable! ![]() Jane and the gang living in Derbyshire, England. |

RE: Clients can be Frustrating!
I was actually looking at her photo on your website last night! Out of curiosity I occasionally check for ragdolls available in VA/NC (I'm in VA, about 3-4 hours from where you are). I am SO tempted, and she's so cute, but i already have 2 raggies and am on a grad student budget
Sigh... someday after I (eventually) finish my dissertation I'll be able to afford to get/take care of a third raggie!!!

RE: Clients can be Frustrating!
I am not a breeder but people sometimes do not use common sense. Maybe his wife knew and maybe not and maybe since they were older a older cat would be best. My heart goes out to you and I do think people should think things through before doing things such as buy such a cutie and then have to return it. I agree it is hard enough on the baby to adjust at first anyway. All I can say is thank goodness they called you instead of trying to place the cutie themselves because who knows who or what kind of a home it would be in.
So I guess just be thankful for now and know there is a special home for the kitten and the wait will be worth it. ![]() WEST MICHIGAN, USA

RE: Clients can be Frustrating!
She is cute.
We had a couple come over to look at our kittens. The man said his Mom bred Persians for many years and seemed to be excited to get a Ragdoll. The lady just kinda sat there and didn't say much. A few days after they picked up the kitten I get a email that says the kitten is aggressive and biting. I answered and he wrote back saying the kitten is stressed and he "feared" for his wife's safety. I told him to return the kitten for a refund. When he brought it back I spoke to him at length and he revealed that his wife had never owned a pet before and was scared of this kitten. We had no trouble placing him in another home.
