Anyone who wants to come and get advice can do so and anyone who wants to provide advice can do so, no matter who disagrees. That is what has made these types of fora useful over the years.

I think there has been a fair amount of frustration at being unable to defend one's advice based on scientific information. Those who have fled to "safer," unchallenging climes should think about that. It works great for chit chat and picture sharing, which are good and enjoyable, but is dangerous for advice that goes to the health and welfare of our cats. Those who JUST want a coffee klatch and nothing else should choose those parts of the forum or enjoy themselves elsewhere. To me, the most important role of Ragdoll fora is solid scientific advice, like this string.

My observation is that when folks want serious health and behavior advice, they tend to come here. If that means "life support" in your view, that is weak criticism in mine.

I do not think folks are likely to find your profile. I believe folks go from posts to profiles, if at all, and not the reverse.

You seem to visit over recent times just to slam the door again rather than to contribute anything. Those who have been here, know you stalked off. Others will care less.

It is disappointing that you want to make yourself more difficult to consult about topics like t foetus. I think you are showing the wrong priorities, but you must choose your own.

Best,
JanH

"In interviews, CDC said ill people report eating different types and brands of turkey products purchased from many different locations. Two ill people lived in a household where raw turkey pet food was fed to pets. The outbreak strain has been identified in samples taken from raw turkey pet food, raw turkey products, and live turkeys."

Raw Cat Food Could Spread Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria

"Chan added that the study was important as it showed that buying commercial, frozen products rather using than home-prepared food, did not circumvent the dangers of pathogens. “The most concerning from our public health point of view is that they are finding multi-drug resistant bacteria in the food source,” he said.

“If you buy mince from a supermarket you are likely to have bacteria, but because you cook it you are not at risk,” added Chan, pointing out that commercial raw meat diets were not designed to be cooked because it could break down supplements that have been added to them.

Chan stressed that vets should discuss the risks of raw meat with owners, adding that it was not yet known what the best precautions were.

“There hasn’t been any evidence to show [if] an animal has an allergy problem, that allergy is best treated with raw food products,” he added. “We don’t have any scientific evidence to support those claims.”"
