hello
Just wanted to stop by and say hello. About a 1 1/2 months ago we had to put down our beloved beautiful Tortie Persian due to illness. With the home beign kind of empty, my wife & I have decided to go ahead and find another kitty. I have always wanted a Ragdoll and after much searching and deciding whether we want another kitty in our household, we found a Ragdoll breeder Rochester, NY area. We went to visit the cattery and decided to go ahead and buy one of her kittens. We have chosen to adopt a beautiful blue point female ragdoll kitten. She was more outgoing and playful towards us and especially towards my 5 year old son.

We won't be able to bring her home until the first part of May so this waiting game is killing me to no end. But as the old saying goes, good things come to those who wait. Here is a pic of our new kitten we rec'd from the breeder whom we adopted her from:

Your kitten is adorable!! What a good choice to get a ragdoll. I know about that quiet house after losing a wonderful companion. I lost my cat Simon in 2005 and then adopted 2 ragdolls. You've come to the right place to wait - and share pics as you get them!

Welcome to the forum. Your kitten is beautiful!! I know all too well about waiting. I'm still waiting for mine to be born. I can't wait to be in the "waiting to come home stage" because then I would be able to look at him. Congrats to you & your family.

RE: hello
Thank you all for the warm welcome. We haven't really decided on a name yet but several has come up.

I like Lucy (as in Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds) Wife don't care for it. Oh well. LOL! However, if we had bought 2 girls, I would have named them Lucy & Ethel.

Others :

Cleo
Chloe
Tiki
Nikita
Jasmine
Gunner (my idea and yeah that sounds more for a boy cat. LOL!)

Hey - maybe it's not too late -- you can always get a second!! Truly - two are much more fun and aren't any more trouble. After having had one cat as an only cat until he died. Now I have two and I know from now on, I'll always have two. They are not only great company for me, but also for each other.

RE: hello
I second what Teresa said, having more then one is great and now that you have been bitten by the ragdoll bug we all know your going to end up with two or more anyway LOL. Why not get them at the same time? Also if your new kittens mum is retiring and needs a home from what Ive seen that would be very very special. Having mum and bub, Ive seen some really nice photos from a friend who got a mum and bub.

Nice choice of names, I like Jasmine and Tiki Smile
