Anybody else have a kitten that goes after their food? Thor keeps trying to get to our food sometimes even managing to take a bite directly off of a plate.
You might want to try feeding him just before you eat. None of my boys do that. I've also never given them human food as a treat. Once in awhile, somebody will stretch out on the table just to watch. They don't try to steal the food. If Thor's tummy is full, your food will not be so attractive.

We always feed him before we eat. Yet he still gets close to our food. We have never given him human food as a treat either. I think I may have a Garfield on my hands.

legomaheggroll (I luv your I.D. name!!), if your kitty is not hungry for it's own food, either put him in another room while your eating, or train him that it's not acceptable to eat your food. I know cats can get pancreatitis from eating people food. Good luck, & keep us posted.

I actually have the opposite happening with Sugar especially. He will sniff our food, but has never attempted to eat it. Sugar shows no interest but he sure likes to smell it! It's almost the same with Kirby. But the one thing Kirby will go after is the butter. If my boys leave it out on the table, he goes for it, so now there will be no butter container on our kitchen table because this could give him pancreatitis. I would not want this to happen so I'm very aware to put it away once it is used.
Our raggies are not allowed on the dining room table ever for any reason! Mom says and that's good enough for themBig Grin
Yes, you are correct and that's the way it should be. We got to get it nicked in the bud before Thanksgiving. Last thing I want are kitties jumping on the table with my family here. But they are just so darn cute!!!

He's been getting better about human food, but now he goes after our dog's food. Even if we feed Thor before we feed our dog, he goes after it.
My daughters cat LOVES cantaloupe!!!! He'll take it right off of the plate and bite right into it. Haven't bought any since the listeria illnesses breakout though.
Sounds like you might just have a naughty cat, just like my snowdrop, she will just try to get away with anything. We have to have the dining room door shut, or they are shut in the lounge or outside in there buggy if we are having a takeaway or something. Good luck this will be hard to stop!
