Since everyones cats seem so similar and seem to have a lot of the same issues, some that don't manifest themselves right away, some eventually and some that never happen, I figured a few polls would be a good idea. This way we (and future members) can see how our cats are, compared to other Ragdolls and feel more comfortable knowing others go through the same things. It may also help those considering getting a ragdoll.
So, this is my first poll. I know Dolly's had a dirty bum a few times and even stepped in in quite often and we were afraid it would never end... but has gotten better. I've seen others post about their cats getting one too. What has everyone gone through?
If you don't fall under any of these categories as there's always other condtions, such as illness, change of food, stress, etc. So, please comment.

I have just come to automatically do a hiney check (as i like to call it) everytime he leaves the litter box. Before it gets really into his fur or on the floor...LOL. Luckily it doesnt happen all the time. It did just happen yesterday though. Just got the scissors out and that was it!!
Yes, my Hershey has those issues once in a while too. Sometimes he has a clump stuck to his butt and I try to get it off with some baby wet wipes. Sometimes that doesn't work real good and I have to get a soapy washcloth out. First he was so scared of the water and tried to get away but it's getting better now. I'm like Christina and do the hiney check everytime he uses the litter box too. I guess a butt shave would be the best solution to it ;-)
From time to time...it helps to have his little butt clipped from time to time It isn't from loose stools, usually a clump just sticks to his fur. He is hell on wheels to get cleaned up...he hates it.
Wait -- how do you vote if you have two or more cats?? One that is clean all the time and never has a dirty bum....and one that has a problem time to time?

Well, Darn... didn't know I could vote for more than one, and now that I've voted it won't let me vote for another one. So, I just want to go on the record to say that Samantha is a VERY CLEAN ragdoll with never a bum problem. LOL!!
Yes, I have a girl who has a dirty britches about once a week. If the cat isn't showing, I think clipping the britches area works well.
If it is frequent, you may want to check for worms, or digestive issues.
Purrs,

well, Puff Apollo had many accidents a few days after he come into our home. This lasted several days... abut 2 weeks and he had many baths during that time. I had to chase him down. I used baby wipes as needed. He was on Flagyl for a bacterial infection and recovered just fine. He no longer has accidents but I do check his butt during the day- clean - he is a good groomer now ( 15 weeks old) . Judy

Hi all,
my little one has a prob every now and then - due to a delicate stomach, but he's a good boy and lets me clean him up with wet baby wipes and he's looking after himself too, so this is not a major issue ... apart from the smell
