Many of you know of Henry's renal failure.
My question here is simply one of curiosity.
Henry has never sprayed and has always used his box perfectly. As his disease progresses, 90% of the time he is peeing outside the box. Not through out the house, just right in front of the box (actually both boxes). Please know, this is not a complaint - we have mats (both rubber and fabric) stationed in those areas, and we are dealing with the situation.
The question - I have always heard that cat urine (I think male, especially) is a strong and unpleasant smell. There seems to be no scent to Henry's urine, even if I hold my nose directly to the spot. I have one bad eye and two bad ears, so my sense of smell is excellent.
Does any know if this relates directly to the renal failure? Again, just curious and thank you for any thoughts provided.
