Full Version: Adding Avatar picture below name (user ID)

Here are some helpful directions to help you add an avatar (a small picture below your name or user ID)
At the top of the page, it will say "Welcome Back,......." and to the right it will have a link that says User CP.
Go to the left of your page, it will say Your Profile, go to the last link that says *Change Avatar. To do this you will need to resize the picture to the restricted size and then upload it.

If you don't have a program that can resize your picture to the correct size, the Admin has been kind enough to allow pictures to be emailed to him and he will resize, or please feel free to email them to me. My email address is located in my profile or at the bottom of each of my posts.

Hopefully, this will help, and we will see many of your beautiful Ragdolls or other pictures you choose to use for your avatar.Smile

Hi,
I am a new member and have tried to add an avatar. I did resize the picture to correct size but nothing happened. Does it take a certain amount of time for it to show up?
Thanks

Hi and welcome,

It may be the file name, even though it is resized to the correct dimensions, certain files, will still have the over the 10KB. I always use JPG to save my pictures in, in the past if I tried to save it as a gif, even though my pixels were the correct size, the file was still over 10KB. I hope this helps, if you have any questions, just ask.Smile

aww A lot of the members here use photobucket it's free and will re size.then you just copy and paste IMG code.

After you load your pic have you tried to preview them?
all so you have to have your (Thread Subject) what ever your title is (example Hi I'm New) to preview them.
Hope this helps
I had problems too when I first came here, the people were great at helping me out. There probably sorry now LOL....
I've got the hang of posting photos but I'm still in awe of the people with the lovely photo banners in their signatures. How do you make those? I hope everyone knows what I mean...it's the ones with multiple pet photos and names etc. all in one image in the signature. I just know how to post regular photos but not how to make a great banner like ones I've seen here. Thanks for any help / tips. Smile

Most of those great signatures are done by Teresa or Linda (jellybean) and some of us do them ourselves. I'm sure T or Linda would be able to help you doing yours.
Photobucket is amazing for editing photos!! I did the one below just this afternoon!
Not sure yet how to do multiple pet/photo signatures yet, but I'm sure a more knowledgable person can instruct you! Smile
