Hi,

I was wondering how you tell how big my kitten is going to grow. Floyd is 6 months now and still seems quite little. He has huge paws, don't know if this is an indication that he will be big. I have included a pic of both Floyd and his dad (which i took when I collected him from the breeder.) His dad was really huge.

Also one more question.....do you think his face will get as dark as his dads. His mum was a seal colourpoint don't know how this affects his colouring.

I really appreciate any answers. Cheers, El Wink

I can't comment on how big Floyd will grow or if his coloring will darken but he sure is beautiful, so fluffy, and with those big blue eyes!

Thanks. He is a wee sweetie. Smile
Being a first time ragdoll owner, this is the info I received when I also asked. Coloring will continue to change/darken and may take up to a couple of years to complete. The info on size was so "variable" that I couldn't begin to explain what I was told.
What I do know: Murphy is 11 mths old and around 10-11 lbs. I saw the size of mom and dad, neither too large or too small, and breeder said it would be around the same, lol. Also have a friend that got two from this same breeder and saw the size of dad for the one, large, as is the growing kitten.
Size means what? Weight/length? I had a DSH that weighed a whopping 23 lbs at one point, but was much shorter in length than Murphy is now. From above Murphy looks bigger than what I remember Graysee was, but less than half the weight.
Floyd is beautiful and can't wait to see the ever changing color.

Thanks, that was really informative. Murphy is a very handsome catty, good name (although I would appreciate it being Irish.) By size I mean both weight and height. Floyds dad was the biggest cat I have ever seen (both in height and weight), was hoping my wee man you take after his pops. My other cat Ziggy is the same age as Murphy and he is 13 pounds, never stops munching.

Floyd is just beautiful!!! and i love Ziggy's blk & wht markings. Floyd does look like his daddy Wink My 2 are 1yr & 2 weeks and we have noticed more dark coming in, especially Roxi because she was so light. Their Mom was a seal colorpoint ( very dark ) and not to big, and Dad was a blue mitted, pretty lg cat.

They are both 10lbs, with Bo being a few ounces more than his sis, he also has big paws and a bigger head. Roxi has delicate paws and a smaller delicate face. I think we are in for more changes as we go into the 2nd yr of raggie growth. Smile

Hi, thanks for reply. Your have beutiful catties. My seal colourpoint Muki's face is still darkening and she is a year and a half old. (hmmmm, I think I just answered my own question). Floyds dad was the biggest cat I have ever seen and I am hoping little Floyd will take after him. He is the sweetest little cat and is always purring - Love him to bits SmileSmileSmile

Hey Becky,

Thats the cool thing about raggies they just keep growing and growing. I was so surprised when I seen Floyds dad, he was immense. He also had these really dark sapphire eyes that were mesmerizing. We baby Floyd has taken after his dad in the eye deparment, hopefully he will take after him in the size one too. Thank for the replySmileSmileSmile El
Floyd is so handsome and looks like a good size too....Cooper is 6 months and 1 week old...he weighs 7.3 pounds...It is so hard to tell size from a picture, but here is a recent one of Cooper.
