I am getting my first ragdoll kitten in a few weeks and we went to visit our kitten a few weeks ago and he had lost all his hair. so had one other of his litter mates. The breeder told me that there was nothing wrong with this and it happens in this breed sometimes. I am worried that the cat has something wrong with it or it gets stressed easily. The hair is growing back now according to the breeder, but I am still worried. Have any of you breeders ever experienced this with your kittens? It happened when she switched them to food from nursing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
I personally have not heard of this or experienced this. When switching food sometimes they experience diaherra due to the change.

Hair loss may be due to allergies, ringworm, or endocrine alopecia.
I would ask a vet for some more ides. I do not think this is typical and seems like a red flag to me.
thank you for your help!
When it became necessary to feed our last litter of kittens we used goat milk which worked great but two out of the three did lose someof their hair, one more than the other.

At two months of age their hair has grown back and they look great, it is hard to see which kitten did not lose their hair. Personally I would not be overly worried.
