glad I found this thread I have just learnt that gypsie has feline herpes Sad when we got her she had sneezes and a runny eye and i just thought it was climate change and the plane flight we took her to get her 2nd needle and the new vet ( straight out of uni) said yeh thats prob why she sneezing etc with the different dust and climate etc so that was fine, she still had it when she went back for her last kitten needle and yeh the main vet we seen did say it was either herpes or clymdia ( whats the difference ? )and that it is common in kittens of her age and yeh Sad I asked if she could take anything to clear it up and he said there wasnt really anything they could give her its in her system and she will have it for life and i thought greattttttttttt ( she is suppose to be our other queen Sad )..... I am trying my hardest to keep her away from Indi's kittens but yeh not as easy as it looks lol where can I get this lysine from?? I am in australia and will this clear it up, i know it wont fix the prob but yeh maybe it will help her some weeks she fine no sneezing etc and then other weeks she sneezes
My little former feral, Bianca gets herpes of the eye and has drainage due to this. The vet said that it is brought on mostly by stress. He has also indicated that it is "seasonal." He told me to get L-Lysine which I've been giving to her for this for a few years now and it seems to help. It often takes a while for the eyes to become completely clear though I do think that it helps.
