My boy suffers with it bad. It gets so greasy matts up quite quick and is so hard to brush through with a powder bath. I wash his tail with warm water pet shampoo then rinse and dry.

Wanted to ask if you have any good tips to try and improve this condition. Is it a young hormonal thing? Will it dissapear with age.

Thanks in advance.

Becci.
Hello Becci!
I can't speak from my own experience but I've heard about breeders who use dish liquid to degrease the tail. Maybe that's an option for you.

EDIT: I don't know if it's a common practice and if you can do that with every dish liquid.
I think Dawn dish soap is commonly used, our boy doesn't have much of a stud tail so I can't be of much use! I'm sure someone will come along and offer some good advice Smile
Thanks for the replies so far x
I use a product called De-Solv-It. It's non-toxic and it works great. I just spray it on, rub it in, wait a couple of minutes, add a little shampoo, and rinse it off. It's also great for cleaning anything greasy!
