Hello everyone!! Miranda and I have been MIA...life sure gets in the way of my web time! Last night on accident I found myself watching this weird show about a national Ferret owners organization---the members, their ferrets, their lifestyles and even their conventions...lol....and as I watched these ferrets leaping and racing and stealing the laundry from the basket and bandit-ing anything they wanted...scampering away with it in their mouths--and stashing it away in their self made nests...when they were picked up they went totally limp...just hung there like a limp sock with legs straight down..they love to lay on their backs and also when on their stomachs they can flatten out their "hip" joints so they are one with the floor...the humans that own them say they are so personable and such companions.[/size] Highly social...right with you every moment..the humans even have to adapt to a "ferret strut"...no shoes in the house and you walk in a tiny shuffle because they love to chase your feet and also run in front of you and fall dead......they come in every color of the rainbow and most of them have a mask...kind of like a racoon for most.....I was watching this with total awe...Miranda is like no cat I have every owned...so many characteristics unique to her...Please tell me she isnt a ferret....As I write this she is flat on her back under the side of the computer chair...she has tripped me up in my travels all morning....every drawer I opened she got in to and then stole something from it ...right now I have 2 drinking straws, an empty package from mascara that she stole out of the garbage, 2 felt mice, my 36" long Swiffer duster, and her stuffed ferret.....in my bed...(her nest...this is the place she takes all her treasures)...she is at my side all the time...every minute...and when I have to leave she stands at the door and cries like she is dying...I suspect this goes on every time she hears movement from other tenants in this building when I am not here. She craves people...she escaped into the apartment hallway the other night...got up a flights of stairs..(i didnt even know she could climb stairs) and sat on my neighbors door mat and cried. (we are friends, she knows Miranda well, and she also has a cat)..My friend opened the door...Miranda strutted past her cat without even a second look....wandered around for a minute and went straight to her bedroom and made herself comfortable...she did not want anything to do with her cat...nothing hostile..just not interested...she wanted my friend...Lord hear me...this cat is an adventure almost equal to raising my boys...Please tell me she is not a ferret?? !!
