I live in the US and have noticed the frequent references to Royal Canin on this board - it seems in part from those outside the US (?). I'm interested to know what the "raves" are regarding RC, as with the number of other dry foods available here that one wouldn't necessarily be my first or second choice, especially as it is more expensive than Wellness or other higher brands. Bugsy's former owner recommended Royal Canin which I initially kept her on, but I transitioned her off of RC in part due to the amount of grain in the upper 1/4 of the ingredient list, and the price. It seems to have a good reputation, and the Petco near here has a large selection so I'm curious. Thanks!
I really don't know, it seems to be pretty popular among breeders too. Perhaps it is because of the Maine Coon formula, that many people use with Ragdolls because they are such a big breed? I checked it out because it seems to have a better reputation than many other brands, but I don't see why it should. I was not impressed with the ingredients when I finally looked at it for myself (rice hulls? come on). I was gonna suggest that maybe its popularity was due to not being recalled last year, but some varieties were. So I really don't know.
