I agree with a few of the posters here in re: for one negative experience, there will be a positive one. I live in the US and when we adopted Bugsy (at 3 1/2) she as on Royal Canin. I'd read up on various cat foods and decided to switch to one with lower grain products, and she's done well but I end up spending more. Royal Canin doesn't seem to be as "favored" around here than other types of cat food, but that shouldn't prevent you from switching. My former cat (non Ragdoll) ate Purina One and liked it.
