I thought I was out of questions, but then I thought of another one. Big Grin

What have been your experiences with going back to work after getting a new Ragdoll? I'm trying to arrange to have four days at home in a row when we pick up our three beautiful Raggies, but I am wondering what to expect when life gets back to a normal schedule the following Monday. I live far enough away from work that popping back in during lunch hour is not feasible, but I don't want to stress out our cats as they get used to their new digs.

Should I take a half day or try to leave work early the first few days, or just forge ahead knowing that they will be fine without me and will get used to the schedule?

I wish I wasn't such a worry wort... Wink

Cheers!

- Rod
I think they'll probably adjust just fine when you go back to work. That's always a big step. I took a week off with mine and had the same concern when I went back to work, but you'll find they'll just sleep while you're gone and be ready for fun and games and snuggles when you get home.
I suggest you leave each day for a few hrs while your off so their used to be alone and they will be just fine when you go back to work. Afterall they do have each other Smile
I agree with Teresa. I also was able to take some time off after we got Luca. I can't remember now exactly how much but it was at least 4 days if not more. After that, it was back to work and Luca did fine. And if you are getting 3 (you're so lucky) they will have each other for company.

I think it's more stressful for us than it is for the kitties. =) They adapt pretty quickly and learn your routine fairly fast. You'll soon notice them up and about when you routinely get up in the morning and they'll be waiting for you at the door (at least mine did) when they know you're supposed to be home. In the past Gunther woke me up on two seperate occasions when my alarm didn't go off but he knew I was supposed to be up because it wasn't 'normal' and that's when he usually got his food bowl refilled. lol
Use the first days to confirm the safe room is kitten proof for this particular cat and then you can comfortably leave the cat there for the work day.
