Opened the front door and this little guy walked right into our home (and hearts). I figure he must belong to someone to be that comfortable to waltz right in. He has a cold so I took him to the vet - and after a $350 bill and no chip - I think the adoption (his of us) is probably final. He ate almost a full pound of canned cat food yesterday. Not all at once of course. I fed him four times (as he demanded it!). I figure he probably went w/o for quite a while and his appetite will taper off as his nutritional needs are met. His voice is meek but his attitude is not. He has total gusto and whips around here like a whirlwind - kid in a candy store. And then sleeps like a rock. I'm not really ready for a new kitten - but how can you say no?

Thanks Linda, Judy! The vet thinks he's about 12 weeks. He was covered with fleas and mites and congested - no fever thankfully - so he's sleeping alot but man when he's awake he's a blurr of go go go! Even at the vet he was running up to everybody, wanting to say hello. He was behaving more like a dog than a kitten. At home, he's excited and running up to the other cats - they respond by hissing. Though that doesn't detour him one bit. He wants to PLAY.

What a cute kitten and how fortunate you were to be chosen by him (ok, he was fortunate too, LOL). I'm so glad he has a great home now. I hope you'll keep posting pics of him so we can watch him grow up

Congrats Laura!! He is soo adorable. I've always liked cats that are that beautiful dark gray color. I wish a cute little kitten would find me...! When I was in high school a kitten "found" me... At least that's what I told my parents. Really, he was the last kitten in my friends cat's litter and I felt bad for him so I took him home! My parents were in love with him, and he ended up being the best cat we ever had. Tragically, he died of cancer at just 3 years old. To this day I haven't told them that Romeo wasn't found. Thanks everyone. I love his color also. He's all grey but his tabby stripes still show through. I'm hoping the stripes get darker as he grows. I also LOVE his voice - it sounds strained almost like someone who's smoked for thirty years - not the best description maybe, but the sound is so cool and hard to describe. The vet said it's normal.

How interesting that Smoke just waltzed right into your home. Lucky for both of you how fate played out its hand this way. He is such a doll! I luv that dark blue gray color.....reminds me of my "angel" Shiloh.
