I don't know how she does it, but Sophie has managed to make her toys "disappear" - just like magic. She had one yesterday and within a few minutes it was gone! I have taken to going around the house with a flashlight checking under baseboards, furniture, etc. If I get lucky I find one or two. There is one in particular that has been gone for days. I swear have checked everywhere - it's gone. And this was a favorite or her's and ok, me too. Anyone else have a Raggie that is part magician and can make their playthings disappear???

Thanks
Carol C.
This is only a problem if you have furnishings. If you put your cat and toys in a room devoid of furnishings - no problem.
Big Grin - yes with three boys around now I have plenty of disappearing toys too - although sometimes they magically reappear too Rolleyes
My last sofa had a metal strip in the front and the toys used to run under there to hide. I had to move the couch out to recover all the toys. Other favorite places would be under the bed, under the fridge and I had a server in the kitchen that accumulated things. Rags has a favorite toy he will carry around in his mouth and talk to you at the same time. I also just got them the new toy at petsmart with the mouse with the computer chip. It squeaks when they move it. It's in a different room every day. One morning it was next to me on the bed. I don't know if it was a warning system if I got up or if Max thought I might want to play with it when I woke up. That's what makes toys such fun - you never know where they will be. JanH is right about the furniture. That's where you find the toys.

Ours used to disappear out of the front door and turn up in the woods courtesy of Lucy, my daughter's dog. My daughter has now moved, with Lucy, so I'm just waiting for her to finish emptying her room to see how many cat toys re-appear. Big Grin
We had the same problem with Katie, I finally followed her into the guest room and she disappeared under the bed, aha... NOPE, looked under and no toys to be seen. On closer inspection, I realized the the thin fabric under the boxspring was looking a bit lumpy. She had managed to make an opening and had a whole stash of toys up there and she then climbed up herself and used it as a hammock! I didn't want to take the chance of her somehow getting tangled up there so the door to the guest room is now kept closed... they are inventive!
Yes we have magical disappearing toys too! Especially balls, they get batted around and lost under couches/desks/furniture and a few minutes later the kits are mewing for more toys Shy Daddy usually goes on a mission to find them and they end up disappearing again very quickly Tongue
Under the washer/dryer or under the stove. That seems to be the 2 places they disappear the most. Why can't they make balls that are small but just a little bit bigger?

Ha! My cat Boise used to do this too. I remember looking for her one day and finally sticking my head under the bed, only to see that under fabric sagging down and Boise's eyes peering out of it at me. It was her special hiding place. Smile
We have the same problem! Inevitably, the toys wind up under the radiators, under the bed, under the fridge or oven in the kitchen, the gap between the baseboard heating and the floor, etc.. So many times I'll see him lying with his paws under the fridge or oven as if he's trying to reach something under there. Once in a while, I'll take his teaser toy stick and run it under the appliances. Always lots of white hair tufts come out and if we're lucky, occasionally a toy. This happens to us constantly!
