When you have someone come visit and you don't offer them any entertainment other than making suitcase beds for raggies, then you have to at least get pics of them doing that, right?

First there is finding the perfect suitcase.

Then ripping out the insides

Cutting out the top when the only thing your host has to cut it with is a sharpened butcher knife.

We found it was best to put on the cording first.

Gotta get a little help from your friends
[Image: linsuit5.jpg]

Figure out where to put those pink legs (we find the cases are little wobbly by just using legs, so we cut a piece of plywood the size of the case and painted it then drilled holes through it and attached the legs through the plywood into the suitcase and use nuts on the inside of the case to secure them. This gave a much steadier feeling bed. Unfortunately we didn't get a pic of that.

Of course you're required to make a mess when you do all this.

Attach the fiberfill

Throw in a pretty lining.

And voila -- a cat bed any cat will love.

It's good to see you've had to work for board and lodgings Linda Big Grin Big Grin
... these beds really grow on me... now I have to go hunt for an old suitcase that's good enough for doing a bed for my precious boys Rolleyes
So cute! A good hunt for a yard sale.
Great looking bed!! Looks like you had a fun time doing it.
Whew! Teresa, you must have been exhausted after standing and holding that camera for so long. I hope Linda worked fast enough to keep you from fainting from fatigue.
Thanks all for the sweet comments.
It was so much fun making those I love doing that kind of thing.
Thank goodness for T.... that last post of me working on the case was where I left it and went off to bed.
A little angle came in and did the finishing up on itSmile
Great job!
Was it a working vacation Linda? Wink
Well, you know what they say Gail, all play and no work makes Jack a dull boy -- or do I have that backwards? I forget...LOL~!!
Very nifty! Watch out Teresa, that suitcase looks just about big enough to fit Simone! Tongue
