It should not replace a vet visit for wounds, but in this case when the vet visit is delayed and something is being used to moisten the pad anyway it seems a better alternative.

I would be afraid of the antibiotic(s) 3 of them listed in neosporin, and ingesting it. But next time during the winter when my pup's paws bleed from the salt put down on the streets I am pulling that baby out and trying it out. Bag Balm always helps but it is slow.
Neosporin is a common item in pre packaged pet first aid kits and many vets recommend it if a wound ointment is needed. Nothing replaces a vet's diagnosis and instructions.
