My name is Amanda and I live in North Carolina. I am not a ragdoll mommy yet, but I am on the search for a breader. I have fallen absolutely in love with these beautiful cats. I need help locating one close to me in my state that is a good breeder. I have found one and I was wondering if anyone has heard about them and if they are worth my time contacting? I want ragdoll baby something bad and I just don't want to get one then something horrible happen medically. It would truly break my heart. The cattery in question is The Jollytime Ragdolls. If anyone has any advice for me I would greatly apperciate it. Thank you for the help!

Thank you for the very nice welcome. I hope someone will help me soon. I think the pic of your baby Charlie is so beutifull. I can't wait get my new baby. Already have names when I find the one or two.
Congrats and welcome! I hope you find your dreambaby

What names are you thinking of? I couldn't help but notice the "one or two", if you ask anyone here their answer is sure to be "get two! get two!" hehe

I want to just have to convince the hubby that I need two. The name for girl would be "Moya" and the boy would be "Poe" and by chance the second baby turns out to be another girl the name would be "Emily". I just can not wait.
I cannot help you with any first hand information, but you should be aware that minks are unaccepted variants in Ragdolls, which means they are bred outside the breed standard. That may not matter to you, but it might and it does not seem this breeder is likely to emphasize their status, mislabeling them "rare" instead of the more accurate "rejected." ; ) (The coat texture of any properly bred Ragdoll variant should not be different than other Ragdolls as specified in the Ragdoll standard.)

Thankyou for the input. That explains why I have not found anything about mink in the ragdoll standards online any where. I am not looking for a show baby, but that would be cool if I could, I am just looking for baby or two. Maybe in the future I will adopt a show baby until then I will be happy with the stay at home kids. Thank you again.
Not sure where in NC you're located but Gail with Megailee Ragdolls is a member of the forum and even has kittens that have been placed with members of the forum. I would recommend her and she even has available kittens right now.

Hiya,
Am in the UK so can't help, but can say - don't go with a breeder that is selling them at cut price with an offer that seems too good to be true (e.g cheap but registered and insured and vaccinated etc etc) ....and don't take home any baby that's got a slightly weepy eye or covered in fleas or very sleepy -....I did all the above and am now very very happy with them - but had a nightmare first few months, spent a lot of time and money at the vets and I guess was lucky they both recovered.
And do....get two. No question! That's something I got right! - and I guess even reputable breeders may do a small discount if you take two??? Was so happy I brought both home - otherwise I'd only have taken Chipotle which would have been very hard as he turned out to be so shy (I couldn't tell this at the breeders because he was so sleepy)
Good luck!
