Hi!
I am new at this, so forgive any stupidity - we have had a cat living in 1. our barn for a few weeks, &2. in a rotting, falling down shed next to my flower garden for about 2 months. We have been feeding her daily, named her Sage (which she is responding to), and hoping to domesticate enough to bring her into the house with 3 dogs and 2 kittens already in residence. I stopped by the vet today to ask a question, and saw a woman with the biggest cat I had EVER seen, on a leash no less!, and looking like a mirror image of Sage! She told me hers was a ragdoll male, and gave me basic information about the breed (and the name fits perfectly - the first time I picked Sage up (10 minutes after I met her!), she melted in my arms like a ragdoll that had been with me forever.
I am seeking advice/wisdom - how do I best bring this little girl into our family? She has met (from a distance - didn't care for) our Golden, Duke; he is the most hyper, and the other 2 are practically cats themselves. The kittens are young - around 3 1/2 months, and both scheduled to be spayed/neutered within the next 2 weeks. DO I wait for that, to avoid any hormonal white noise? Do I stage an intervention, and kidnap her to the laundry room for the traditional decompression -any help would be so gratefully accepted!
Welcome.

THANK YOU!! I will check it out immediately - I just went out to hang with her, and found the shed had had a partial roof collapse - scared the heck out of me! She's fine - but I want to start the process asap - thanks again:Smile
Yikes. Someone may have lost their baby! I would take her to a vet or shelter and have her scanned for a chip. You might want to do that ASAP before your whole family falls madly in love.

If not, congratulations - what an awesome find!

Thanks - I would never have thought of a chip - we live in such a rural area that word travels fast - I've checked every place I can think of, and as soon as I can coax her into a carrier, she'll be off to the vet -and I think the infatuation has already begun...!
