I am posting on this site because an emergency situation forces us to rehome our 3 year old Blue, mitted neutered male. We purchased him from a breeder as a kitten and he has been brought up in a home with children as well as other cats and 2 dogs. We are looking for a loving family to adopt him. he is located in Lake Placid NY. Please email me for details. I will attempt to post a photo. ( in the photo...he is the cat on the right) If it does not work. Please email me directly and I can send you a picture. I will also send my phone number so we can speak directly. Thanks !!!!!

PS. My attemps at pictures has failed. If you are really interested...contact me and I will send photo directly to you.

Are you re-homing all of your pets or only the one cat?

We just need to find a home for the one male Ragdoll at this time. Thanks. I dont know if I should have posted this under adoption/rescue. We are not looking for money....rather a safe ,loving home for this cat.
Please contact your breeder also. Many breeders will take back and rehome their own cats.
From the point of view of someone who does rescue, it's always important to find out why that particular pet is being given up in a multi-pet household. Typically (I'm not saying it's the case in your home) when people choose for whatever reason to get rid of one pet, it's often a pet with problems. Giving the full reason for re-homing is always a good idea if you are listing a pet. Sometimes even stating what the family "emergency" is will make readers want to assist more. Just a suggestion.
I would contact the breeder and have her/him either help in the rehoming process or return the kitten to her/him. Most have a clause in the contract that allows you to do that as they can probably place the cat faster and in a safe and loving environment.

I just had someone return a 7 month old seal mitted lynx boy stating he was too active for her. He is the sweetest big boy and I feel he was just bored. Seems to be happy here and hopefully will find the right home soon. I also know that other breeders have had cats returned several years later due to various reasons.

I have also heard not to offer a cat for free as sometimes people with not the best intentions will want them.

The emergency is of a personal matter and does not involve the cat"s behavior or any problems with the other animals. Since it is a Ragdoll forum I will keep that the topic. I did not contact the breeder as I was attempting to save the cat some trauma by not going to the breeder...and then another home. I am not giving the animal to anyone I feel is a poor candidate and would not take care of it....I have done many dog rescues in the past and it has been my experience that in most situations....the least amount of times an animal has to adjust to a new home....the better. I believe I can tell enough about a person after meeting and speaking with them to see if they are serious about the adoption and if they will give the cat a good home. My thoughts on this forum were that since it was dedicated to this breed.....people would have a pretty good network to maybe place an animal. Thanks again.
Do contact the breeder. We do not bring cats back to us. We arrange placements from the current owner to the new and are successful at it because we have access to homes that want another of our Ragdolls that the owner will not have.
