So my boyfriend and I decided to get a one bedroom apartment together since I practically live at his place anyway
Gizmo and I have been pretty much living here with him since last August.. I do have my own apartment but I don't like it there and I spend all my time here anyway, so It makes sense to just move in together. (Also his one room mate drives us both CRAZY.. but that's another story for another time lol)
So when we move he wants to bring his cat that stays at his parents house, with us.. which I am okay with because she's a good girl and I think maybe her and Gizmo could get along.. So I have read through some of the other threads about introducing a new cat and all that. My plan was to have Gizmo stay in the bedroom with us while we let his cat, Sydney, roam the rest of the apartment and they can sniff each other through the door at first. I'm just worried because the last time Gizmo lived with another kitty, he turned into a completely different cat.. He wasn't as cuddly, he seemed kind of annoyed by the other cat and I think we he just less affectionate. I'm worried the same thing could happen again and I would hate for my bear to shy away and stop giving us the attention he usually does.
I'm just worried and looking out for my baby, I would hate to have him turn into a recluse and not become good friends with Sydney.
Any other pointers you guys could give me to try to make this as smooth of a transition for Gizmo as Possible? He's just such a scaredy cat baby! And I probably enable his behavior by coddling him Haha oh god, what kind of a mother am I?!
