Hi Everyone,

I've been watching Cats 101 on Animal Planet trying to see if I can figure out what breed my 4 cats are. I've nailed down 3 of the cats. But the 4th (Smores) has been a challenge since all my cats were rescue cats and I don't know anything about their parents.

I believe she is part Ragdoll. She seems to have the body type and personality of a Ragdoll. She also goes pretty limp when you pick her up. They think she's a year old this month and she's BIG and still growing. The problem is that I haven't seen any pictures of a Tortie Ragdoll so it's hard to tell.

I'd really appreciate any opinions. Thanks!

Just because Ragdolls are a new breed and few whole Ragdolls have been lost, the chances of a Ragdoll in the ancestry of any random bred kitten is close to zero. However, your very cute girl looks nothing like a Ragdoll, although many unrelated moggies do. She sounds like she does have some Ragdoll temperament, which is a major aspect of Ragdolls, but that also is not unusual among unrelated mogges. In fact, many families get Ragdolls because of some Ragdoll like characteristic of their moggie cat which they also want to have in their new kitten.

Welcome and share stories and pictures of all of your cats.
Hi and welcome to the forum. I have to agree with JanH that she doesn't appear to be a ragdoll, but a beautiful calico girl all the same. Thank you for rescuing all of your cats and opening your home and heart to them. We'd love to see and hear about all of your cats.
Thank you everyone for your comments. Really it was more her size and temperament that made me think she might be a Ragdoll. We have 4 cats here. Lightning, Ralph, Pixie, and Smores. They are all indoor cats. Thank you for letting me share my "other kids" with everyone!

Lightning was the first. She's 5 years old. She was a farm kitten. She likes to wrestle with humans but is not a cuddly or social cat. She's the boss and doesn't like to interact with the others unless it's to hiss or chase them.

Ralph is around 5 years old. We think Ralph is at least part Burmese but we're not positive. Ralph was chased up a tree by dogs and was stuck outside for 3 months during winter. He was skin and bones when my wife's cousin rescued him. He nursed Ralph back health but over-fed him so he's a BIG boy now. We than rescued him when her cousin had to move. He's a sweetie but Uncle Ralphie get's annoyed with the young ones at times.

Pixie is a little over a year old. We adopted her from a no-kill shelter. We are almost positive she is an Ocicat. She has the markings and personality at least. She is a little talker and she has to be in on everything that goes on in the house. She tried so hard to make friends with Lightning and Ralph when we got her but they wanted nothing to do with her. We felt so bad that we got Smores the following week from the same shelter so she could have a best friend. They bonded just fine as you can see from the last photo.

What a beautiful crew!! I am so happy that you rescued all of these babies and they obviously have a very loving home and owner Smile Your Smores is one of the most amazingly marked torties that I have seen and while I agree that she doesn't appear ragdoll, she sure is a beauty! I have the greatest little calico pound kitty and I love her to bits!
All of your fur kidz are beautiful in their own ways. I like that dab of brown that splits Lightning's face, and Ralph is so gorgeously black and shining!! Pixie has the most wonderful pattern to her coat - just stunning. Thank you for sharing them and again for rescuing them!!
Hi & Welcome! You didn't tell us your name, but I'd like to say I consider you a hero. These are four lucky fur babies for sure.
Well, I guess you are pretty lucky yourself to have found them. They are just beautiful. By the way, I like Cats 101 also. Smile
Welcome - what a lovely bunch of kitties you have - thanks for sharing them Smile
Hi and welcome to the forum. All of your fur-babies are outstanding. My animals are rescued too and all as different as yours. I look forward to getting to know you.
Welcome. Your cats are beautiful. Glad you're here.
