I've had Charlie for about 3 weeks and we are getting along fine. But since I am the only mammal he comes in contact with, I am worried that he may becoming too dependent on me. He follows me everywhere and sleeps on my bed. I am not complaining but am thinking that maybe he needs a companion. I would be interested in others experiences when they brought a new kitten into the mix. How did it change your dynamic with the original cat and how did the newcomer adapt?
When I got my first Ragdoll it took me 13 days before I got my second. The first little guy couldn't stand for me to be out of his sight for a second. They instantly bonded and are, 8 years later, still great buddies. My first boy is to this day a lap boy all the way. I call him my pogo kitty because if I'm trying to do something in my lap he jumps up, I put him down, he jumps up, I put him down, etc. etc. etc. My second boy has never been as much of a lover but at bedtime he's right there wanting to snuggle. Sooooo, I think a second kitty is a wonderful idea for you. They interact and use up energy with another "floor buddy" and I think overall they're happier.
My little girl is just like this too! She cries if I leave her for a second and is constantly there, I call her my shadow. I absolutely love it but I absolutely hate having to leave her when I go to work. I can't wait for her raggie mummy to have babies so she can have a sister to keep her company!

Highly reccomend a second raggie. My first is so much happier with his buddy and the new one adjusted just fine.
I got my domestic and then found my rag and they were best friends till a few months ago. Male and female. They might be better when she has kitten's they leave and she gets fixed. My 14 year old hates both of them. lol Then again she hates everything and everyone in life. She is getting old so she is very crabby now in her old age.
If Dexter isn't on or beside me, he on or beside his big sister kitten Katie

I think two is better than one also!
Here they are a month into their relationship
