I was looking at Charlies eyes today and it appears that his right eye is healing itself. Could this be? The cloudiness and pitting has dimninised for sure. Does this happen? It's been over a year!
As a reminder: Charlie was diagnosed and treated for feline herpes and a multitude of other things as a kitten. He had a very very severe case of what ever it is,was, now sitting dormant in his system, and came close to death. His right eye was left pitted, cloudy and damaged as a result though his vision appeared to be normal. But now???? Any thoughts?

Well, miracles never cease so maybe it is healing itself. That would be wonderful.

Wow I wasn't aware of Charlie's tough kittenhood but am sure glad he's better now! He's a strong kitty I hope he stays happy and healthy

The right eye looks almost the same as the left ... I couldn't tell it was severely damaged by a Herpes infection - he's gorgeous

I wish I had expert knowledge to share (I surely don't) but I have to tell you what a spectacularly good looking guy your Charlie is! I do hope his eye is healing. It sure doesn't look all that different than the left in his photo.

Pitting is wounds/scars and can heal over time. As with any scar, there may be a point after which it will not improve.

Thanks guys. JanH that is great news. I am so surprised but it makes perfect sense. It was a shock to say the least when I went to clean his eyes and wipe his face yesterday and noticed that both eyes appear to be almost identical.
Very happy about this!

What a wonderful thing to notice, I bet you were over the moon. Charlie is such a handsome lad he deserves two beautiful eyes and now he has them

That's so great. I was unaware of his illness as a kitten too.
So glad that he got past it and his eye is healing
