Well it seems we are experiencing the joys of our young girl "spraying" But it's hard to tell because we have a known peeing culprit as well (Lancelot). We had a little accident in one of the rooms but Lance was not looking guilty as usual, and Guin HAS been very playful/rolling around a lot again. Do the girls usually spray just before coming on call? I don't want to blame the wrong kitty and if it is Guin, we can't exactly discipline her for doing something driven by nature. The pee was aimed at the wall (not trying to be too graphic!) as opposed to someone accidently doing it in the middle of the room, which makes me suspect Guin. Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated

Girls can and do spray. We confine some of our girls during heat. On the flip side Wild Bill has never sprayed once.

A female can spray while in heat and some will outright squat!

Thanks girls We might just have to close off the bedrooms while she's doing this - the rest of the house is tiled Hopefully we'll catch her doing it so at least we know it's her! Calirags your boy has never sprayed?? wow you're lucky! Gail we have also noticed the boys using the litter straight after her, as if to "cover it up". Actually its mostly Merlin, bless him

Yes, all whole cats can spray. Females tend to limit it to when in heat. (Advertising.)

Each has her own style in such matters.

the couple we lived with about a year or so ago had a spayed, female siamese.
unfortunately we discovered that she sprayed aswell.... all over our microfibre couch

my girl gypsie sprays when she is on heat and she has sprayed on me several times as well my other girl indi never use too and my new girl Bella hasnt gone into heat yet so i dont know wether she going to be a sprayer or not yet
