Hi, I'm researching kitten food. I was not able to find the exact ingredients of Royal Canin Babycat 34 online. Any feedback on whether Royal Canin is better than Wellness or vice versa?
I have no experiece with Wellness - is it an overseas brand? We feed RC but it's hard to compare when we haven't tried the other brand. I think Linda's given you a good site

We use the Royal Canin Babycat for weaning and until the time they are ready to go home. We also advise the new parents to continue on that for a while (month or so) and slowly wean onto the new food.
RC Babycat has a very small kibble and so is good for weaning and much smaller than other kitten brands on the market and that is one of the reasons several breeders use it.
Overall if it was between RC and Wellness for a kitten over 3-4 months I would choose Wellness.
Don't forget that some of it will be determined by what the kitten will eat.
Before Newman came home last year I decided that he would grow up on Wellness kitten food (canned and dry)
I definitely intended to transition him very slowly (and did) but I didn't consider the fact that he might refuse to eat the very healthy canned kitten food I'd selected after so much research. He never gave me a moment trouble with the dry but he just didn't like the canned. He wound up eating Avoderm canned which is what I was feeding the others. It's an all life stages formula which isn't my preference - but he had the Wellness dry kitten food too and he seesm to have done very well on it.
Now that my new kitten is coming home I'm back to thinking I want to feed him Wellness canned and dry kitten food but in the back my mind...I know I have to wait and see if he'll eat it!
Thanks everyone for the great advice. Today is Roscoe's first day at home. He had a tough day traveling from Atlanta, Georgia to Los Angeles, Ca. We're going to continue feeding him RC Babycat until he's about 4 months and then start mixing in the Wellness kitten health. It'll probably be easier on him to not change too much too quickly.
