Good thoughts for Smoke please. I've been out of town for a week today and my cat sitter called this morning that Smoke was favoring one of his front feet and it looked like he had some damage to the pad on his foot. She agreed to take him to the vet where hew as running a fever, and he got a pain shot and an antibiotic shot but said if the foot swells she'll have to bring him back to have it lanced (would mean an abscess). I hate being gone when one is sick! I won't be home until Sunday, so please send good wishes his way....
Oh no, that is terrible! Poor Smoke! Hopefully he doesn't have to have a drain like last time. That boy... Do they think it looks like an injury from an animal fight?

I know how it feels when you're away and one of your babies get sick. I was in Georgia when Clover got sick. I left for home immediately. It was the longest flight of my life. My prayers are with you and Smoke.

Perhaps Smoke figured that, if he got an "owiee", you'd cut short your vacation and rush back to him! Here's hoping that the shots will do their job and that he'll not need further treatments.
If he wasn't getting the care I felt he needed, I would be back in a flash. I called the vet this afternoon and talked to him about Smoke, and he assured me he should be fine as long as an eye is kept on his foot and he's brought back if it begins to swell up. I have to trust my kitty sitter since she did notice it first and was willing to take him in to the vet for me. Thanks for all the well wishes, only 4 more days and I'll be home.
It is so nerve wracking to be away when you find something is wrong with your baby. Much in the way of healing thoughts and energy being sent your way!
