Today was a very sad day at Megailee Ragdolls as we had to have a tiny 3 week old kitten put to "sleep". He was a sweet blue mitted boy who was a real fighter.

He was born normal and developed water on the brain. By 2 weeks of age he was smaller than the others even with being supplemented. He could not crawl and fall on his side and back and cried when he rolled over. He head was larger than normal and he seemed not to be able to put on weight. He also had a soft spot on his head I could feel. He tried to keep up with his littermates but by 3 weeks it was obvious there was a problem.

So, we went to the vet and they said there was nothing to be done and so I had to do the only humane thing and not let him suffer longer. My daughter was with me and she was crying at the office. We brought him home and buried him in the backyard under a nice shady spot.

These are the times I really do Not like being a breeder. Though told this was a rare and random event it is devastating to me. We will miss Tiny Tim deeply. He deserved better and I only hope he did not suffer much as we tried to comfort him the best we could.
When you deal with life things do happen but that does not make it easier to handle.Sad
Ohhhh No. I am so sorry! I just cried a river for you and tiny tim. I am so very sorry. Sad
Poor little guy )-: I am so sorry for your loss...
I'm so sorry for your loss, it's devastating such sad newsSad
Sad indeed, and I'm sorry for your loss. No matter how short of a time we have those babies, the pain does not get any easier. One of the reasons I gave up breeding is because I could not deal with the heartbreak that is inevitable.
Gail, so sorry to hear about your loss. I have to hand it to you and all the breeders because without you we wouldn't have our lovable raggies. But I could not be a breeder just for this very reason. I hope you take comfort in knowing that you did everything you could for that little guy, but it just wasn't meant to be.

Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Oh Gail, so sorry to hear about Tiny Tim...
I am so sorry for your loss.
It never matters how long they are here, these little souls touch hearts. Little Tim is now healthy and happy at the bridge and you made his time here the best it could be. So sorry for your loss.
I am very sorry to hear this sad news... Sad Sad I totally understand how you feel coz I was a breeder (for chins) a few years back, and had similar experiences as you... As breeders, we can choose very good bloodlines, ensuring that there is no health problems in these bloodlines, take good care of the pregnant dam during pregnancy and post pregnancy, etc... But, unfortunately, accidents WILL occur, and there is nothing we can do to prevent accidents... Sad This is the cruel fact of life.. And this is a great mental hurdle that breeders must overcome...
Take care, my friend! My thoughts are with you and Tim!
