My Billy Bob's are in full bloom and I thought Linda would enjoy seeing them. I've been afraid to ask how her Billy Bob is doing. Smile
Nelson is standing over my shoulder and yelling at me. "There NOT Billy Bobs; they're cannellonis!" He hates them and commits crepe murder every Fall. They are, by the way, crepe myrtles.

By any name they are beautiful!

Those cannellonis are just gorgouse .
How long will they stay in bloom ?
I don't think they grow here in Ohio or if so maybe thay all look like Billy BobSmile
Shhhh!!!I haven't told T about Billy Bob didn't have the heart as she was so excited to give him to meSmile
Are Hydrangea's are in bloom now mine are just gorgeous full of flowers.
The first time I saw Crepe Myrtles I was in VA and they had rows of them on the highway.
They stayed in bloom late sring through the fall.
I thought they were so pretty.

Now when I bought my home here in NC I bought 2 little bushes 5 years ago and they have yet to bloom??? At least they are not deadTongue

I think maybe the rock hard clay soil and the japanesse beetles may have something to do with it but not sure.
Oh no, not Billy Bob!!!!!! I hope you gave him a proper burial (although if you'd properly buried him he'd be growing and blooming!)

Janilee, yours are just beautiful. Out of the like 20 I now have in my back yard, only 3 are blooming. But none of them are over waist high.
Linda, the blooms only last a few days, but there are others behind them. They make a big mess wherever they fall. Nelson whacks them down to about 2 feet every Fall and they come right back. I wish he'd leave them alone and let them grow tall enough to not be in the way. There are several white ones in the front yard and he hasn't cut 2 of them. They're about 20 feet tall and a little behind the pink ones in blooming.
Yes, hydrangeas are blooming, but they have to be watered daily because they don't do that well in sun and heat.
T, aren't yours a recent addition? Maybe it takes a couple of years to get going, after they get their feet set.
Yes, I planted some starters last last summer and some more early this summer. Hopefully in a couple of years they'll grow big enough to block the view to my neighbor's yard.

Gail, I had two small crepe myrtles planted 7 years ago and they've bloomed every year and are getting huge. I don't know what was put in the soil when they were planted, but it must have been some good stuff. If you didn't add something when you dug the holes, I doubt that they would like our NC soil.
