I was wondering about ear cleaning wipes (if I should have them and use them on a weekly basis to clean ears) Newman's seem to stay clean on their own?
Solo's ears stay clean, but I check them about once a month. The wipes I find are the easiest because they are pre-soaked with just the right amount. I remember I had to clean my dog's ears every week because they got so dirty, but Solo's really stay clean with minimal effort. Guess it depends on the animal and how dirty they get! Some pets are more prone to waxy build up than others, and of course if they play outside or like to get into messy situations that can get their ears dirty too.
Hm. I was wondering about these too. I can't really tell whether or not their ears are dirty enough to warrant spending $20 a container for something I'll rarely use. I wonder if a regular old baby wipe would do the trick?
Phoenix tends to get occasional wax in his ears, and it must tickle him, because he comes to me with a slight head shake. That's my cue to take a look & then take care of it for him.

I just use a damp cotton pad (very wrung out so there is no moisture/water left in the cotton) and wipe carefully. He's then good to go! He really enjoys it too.
If you have multiple cats who groom each other, they likely clean each others' ears. When Winston and Oliver groom each other, the ears seem to be a prime target Smile
