We have a one year old blue mitted female and are awaiting a new ragdoll kitten. I was hoping to get some feedback on what sexes seem to get along the best. We were really wanting a male this time but it is not looking like the coloring on the male will be what we were looking for so we are considering a female with the coloring pattern we want. Does anyone know if two females generally have any problems getting along. Both cats would be spayed, if that makes a difference. We do want them both to be happy.
Either sex should be fine.
The only real difference between male and female is the size when they are neutured. If you aren't too worried about having a larger than average cat then you shouldn't really have a problem. Ask the breeder about the personalities of the kittens who are your preferred colour and go for a personality which will compliment your existing cat.
My two girls get along fine now and still spend time apart by choice. I'm sure they enjoy each others company when it suits them and I think its nice they have each other Smile
I've heard stories saying that males are more dependant on company, be it human or cat, whilst females tend to be more aloof. There will always be individuals that prove these theories false, or switched though.

Yeah, tell that to my Asia (seal colorpoint girl) who OPENLY flirts with any man that comes into our home. Suprise suprise to the cable guy who was bent over checking out the cable box behind the TV, when Asia went right between his legs with her tail held high, giving him an interesting day! Thought he was going to have a heart attack on the spot!

I had some breeders telling me that males are usualy sweeter, calmer, more attached and walk more around our feet than females. What do you think? It is untruth or there is this tendency?

In my house I have 4 males and 6 females, they all sit on our laps, they all love belly rubs, they all take turns in tripping us up, they all sleep on the bed when it's cold so I really can't make any judgement one way or another Smile
