Ever since I've had Phoenix home, he's only given the cutest little squeaks when he wants me to hold him, or it's time for his wet food. I really was wondering if he could actually mew like a kitten does. And, yes he can meow!
On the way to the vet exam yesterday, he mewed up a storm in the car ride there and on the way back home. He wanted to sit on my lap, but considering the distance I had him in his carrier. Little pistol.
VET APPOINTMENT RESULTS:
Phoenix has gained weight, going from 2 lbs. at adoption to 3.7 lbs. yesterday! Predicted adult weight = 10 lbs. (perfect). He has a very small bone structure. He got his 3/1 booster shot and a full exam. This vet is very throrough. I brought a stool sample just to be sure all is well....it is. They also use a long plastic thin instrument that goes deep into a kittens colon to get fresh stools for testing...for everything you can imagine. It was FINE too!
I had been a little concerned over Phoenix's ears for the last 3 days, because he'd been coming to me to have me check inside his ears, and I'd found waxy particles....I then cleaned them out for him, which made him so happy. Well, it really was just wax...nothing serious. Phoenix actually comes up behind me to tap on my leg, telling me he needs something...like the ear thing. He's becoming human.
The vet tech said she was going to clip his claws and I said.....well no that's okay. Haha I was so worried she might cut a quik (sp), and forever make Phoenix afraid of the nail clipping process. He's totally accepting of me doing this, and I want to keep it that way.
His heart was perfect and the vet said he was a very healthy kitten. So happy! The vet is so kind and complimented Phoenix's calm & loving personality & beautiful flame color pattern.
Anyway, the vet said Phoenix might be sleepy for a couple of days from the shot......and well as you can see this was Not the case.
Is blurry because he's in motion, having a ball!

Just added this one from the other day, to show how bright his flame lynxpoint color is getting!

- really adorable
Seems like everytime I get ready to take a pic, he turns his little head. Funny! I cropped and enlarged one that I just took the other day....so thanks for the reminder & the nice words too. Looking forward to seeing more pics of Samantha and Simone very soon, I hope!!
