Ever since I've had Phoenix home, he's only given the cutest little squeaks when he wants me to hold him, or it's time for his wet food. I really was wondering if he could actually mew like a kitten does. And, yes he can meow! Big Grin On the way to the vet exam yesterday, he mewed up a storm in the car ride there and on the way back home. He wanted to sit on my lap, but considering the distance I had him in his carrier. Little pistol.

VET APPOINTMENT RESULTS:

Phoenix has gained weight, going from 2 lbs. at adoption to 3.7 lbs. yesterday! Predicted adult weight = 10 lbs. (perfect). He has a very small bone structure. He got his 3/1 booster shot and a full exam. This vet is very throrough. I brought a stool sample just to be sure all is well....it is. They also use a long plastic thin instrument that goes deep into a kittens colon to get fresh stools for testing...for everything you can imagine. It was FINE too!

I had been a little concerned over Phoenix's ears for the last 3 days, because he'd been coming to me to have me check inside his ears, and I'd found waxy particles....I then cleaned them out for him, which made him so happy. Well, it really was just wax...nothing serious. Phoenix actually comes up behind me to tap on my leg, telling me he needs something...like the ear thing. He's becoming human. Shy

The vet tech said she was going to clip his claws and I said.....well no that's okay. Haha I was so worried she might cut a quik (sp), and forever make Phoenix afraid of the nail clipping process. He's totally accepting of me doing this, and I want to keep it that way.

His heart was perfect and the vet said he was a very healthy kitten. So happy! The vet is so kind and complimented Phoenix's calm & loving personality & beautiful flame color pattern.

Anyway, the vet said Phoenix might be sleepy for a couple of days from the shot......and well as you can see this was Not the case. Tongue

Is blurry because he's in motion, having a ball!

I'm glad Phoenix is healthy and growing so well - he's such a handsome little boy Smile - really adorable
What lovely color he has (and we need a pic of his adorable face too!!). So glad everything went so well at the vet's visit. Phoenix sounds like such a lovely boy.

Teresa....LOL! Smile He is such a stinker for facing the camera. Wink Seems like everytime I get ready to take a pic, he turns his little head. Funny! I cropped and enlarged one that I just took the other day....so thanks for the reminder & the nice words too. Looking forward to seeing more pics of Samantha and Simone very soon, I hope!!
Awww, what a great picture. He's got such a sweet face, and look at that wonderful ear hair. I'm such a sucker for ear hair!
Oh that sweet boy! I bet he'll be bigger than 10 lbs, vets aren't good predictors of raggie weight. Smile I emailed with Sky Blue the other day, I saw they have a litter of seal lynxes just born... I want a seal lynx so bad! And I told her I "know" you and how much you love your Phoenix! Smile She seems so nice! But I dont think it's time for me to get cat #3 just now!

Thanks so much! Seems like each week his ear hair gets longer and he's only 16 weeks old! Smile His coat is quite long as well, although it doesn't show up in pics so much. The vet mentioned how nice it was that he doesn't shed & I thought well, not yet anyway. lol

I wondered about the vets weight prediction. He did ask me what Phoenix's parents weighed....mom is 10 lbs. and dad is 12 lbs. and he said Phoenix will probably weigh the same as his mom. Never know of course.

Oh wow Lindz, that's so fantastic you got in touch with Becci! She is absolutely wonderful & breeds quality Ragdolls. I did see she has 3 litters now and also noticed Vixen being newly added to her Queens list. That's one of her own....a blue/cream torti that is breathtakingly beautiful.

Maybe you'll change your mind about #3 when she posts the new pics of her baby seal lynxes. Wink haha I bet they'll be little dolls! You're such a good mom to Leo and Dexter and have that extra room now too. Big Grin
Wow his colour is really coming through! Glad he is a healthy little chap, its no wonder with a wonderful mummy tho! Smile
It sounds like your vet is very thorough!! I hope Phoenix was ok with the intrusion of the long intestinal thing! Poor boy Smile, but you must be so happy with outcome of all of the tests. He's such a beautiful kitten, I know he's a boy and it should be handsome but I think beautiful is more fitting, either way, he is gorgeous and you are so lucky Smile
Phoenix is really growing up! Such great markings. Perhaps he is just getting warmed up as his voice matures. Mishka has always been a talker, and she can holler like the biggest alley tomcat!
