It is really very stupid... This morning I come to work as usual and was having my cup of coffee while having a quick browse on the ragdoll forum threads... Then I realized that all the pics became square boxes and all the signatures become blank boxes too!! Damned!! I tried to go into photobucket website, and as what I suspected, there was a stupid pop-up box, stating "Photobucket access denied, website blocked by your organization".... #$(#&$(&#!#)!@##!!*&& Geesh!! I am totally speechless and pissed off... All along, I can access photobucket and view pics in all the forums... Why would a company block access to photobucket and prevent the users from viewing pics?? It is not as if I am viewing porn or viewing something illegal... Is anyone's company also have similar policy??
Sorry for the rant in the early morning... I just had to get it off my chest... I will be talking to the Head of IT dept later, and give her a piece of my mind... Sad
How can they ,,,Teresa said something about where she works that they blocked it.
Hopefully they won't block the forum from you.
Block the forum?? Oh no!!! If they really do that, then I will leave this company.... Sad
Oh noooo! How terrible! That's my usual routine too, morning coffee and ragdoll forum. I'd be pissed too! Especially not being able to see sigs, it would be hard for me to distinguish who's who!
Yes, our library actually blocks YouTube because of the bandwidth it takes with all of our patrons who want to watch it. Photobucket was blocked, but I manage the system and filtering, so I opened it back up. I now lots of companies are beginning to filter more and more because of productivity issues and people browsing the Internet. Yes, don't be surprised if some time in the future they don't find traffic to the forum and block it - however, unless they block anonymous proxy servers you can still access it that way.
I complained to the Head of IT dept just now... Asked her what is the reason of blocking photobucket in office... She said it is the "corporate IT" decision blah blah blah... Then I asked her how can I access those "educational forums" (I didn't tell her which ones, of coz) which has pics linked to photobucket, and I cannot view those pics now... After a long discussion, finally, she told me that she can let me access our "visitor's room", where the DSL is external, ie. it does not go thru' our corporate filters... Yippee!! Hahahaha... Smile Smile Finally.... So, here I am, sitting alone in the visitor's room, browsing thru' radgoll forum before my next meeting... Shhhh..... Wink
Hahaha!! Wilson you're so funny! I've always wondered... What do you do for work? (If you don't mind me asking!) I always imagined you must have some super important high paying job, what with you being able to buy four ragdoll kittens within such a short time... (LOL)!! We all know how expensive they are Wink
Hahaha... I am basically a UFO... Ugly Fat and Old.... LOL... Smile I am currently working as a Engineering Manager in a semiconductor company... High pay?? Nope... Important work?? Quite, becoz our handles many end customers who are competitors amongst themselves, where they are selling similar products... One of the products that my company is doing the testing is Microsoft's XBOX's CPU chip... I am sure you all know XBOX... LOL... Rich?? Nope... Still a pauper, but a happy pauper though.... Coz I have my lovely F4s keeping me company... Yeah!! Smile Smile
My husband is electrical engineer for a company I wont mentionSmile
so do you get to play xbox all day Wilson too ,,,,,I mean you do have to see if you made it rightSmile
Linda, so, your hubby is a electrical engineer? Wow! So, I have company now, at least I know one person who is in the electrical/electronic industry... Hahaha.. No, I dun get to play XBox everyday, unfortunately... We just test the IC chip, and ship to Microsoft.. They will assemble all the IC chips onto the motherboard, and they will do the testing themselves... Hehehe...
