Finally a vet that meets my requirements.
Spent a day last week looking around again Rolleyes,,, for a vet.
Country vet,, was nice to see Cello when he was ill,,,, the thought of staying with him for long term just didn't feel right.
I new in my gut if there was anything serious with eather Cello or Leyla ever I was going to be up a creek.
I ended up going into a little pet store down the road from me,, In hopes that the little old lady that owned the store would have some advice and recommendations for me.
I thought I hit the jackpot,,, loads of info about all the vets in my areaSmile
but one in particular a young husband wife team down the road all most in my back yard she spoke very highly about.
I thanked her and went on my way,,,, to check the place out.
I walk in the office and was very pleased the office was nice and clean even a bonus,,,,,,,,,, pictures hanging on the wall.Smile and coffee.
I chatted with the office lady told her why I was there. I ask about there protocol for sick pets and was pleased to hear that they would see a sick pet that day,,, in some cases if not an emergence it may be next morning ,,,I can live with that. She was very pleasant and spoke very highly of the young couple and the owner. They own 5 cats and the owner lives with Dillie.
,,,,who is Dillie I responded ,,,she quickly responded the famous Deer that lives in the house and has her own bedroom and web page ,,,,Ooooooooo ,,,,, I have heard the story about Dillie I smiled.
I had her send for the records for Cello and Leyla and ask her to call me when they received them to set up appointment.
Cello went in on Monday to meet his new Doctor,,I was very pleased
he picked Cello up and greeted him in such a sweet way. Cello was purring for the most part till the temperature thing the boy felt violatedSmile
We chatted for a long time I asked him about the rabies shot and if Cello didn't have it and was bitten if he would still see him he smiled and assured me that he would take care of him but Cello would have to be quarantined if we didn,t know what bet him. Quarantine in Ohio is 6 months with no human contact or death, that would break my heart. He was given the once a year PureVax Feline and seemed to be fine on it.
I also asked him about chipping him,,, ,, as I have talked about chipping before on the forum but my frist vet wanted to put cello asleep to do so Sad ,,,, This vet did it and I didn't have to watch if I choose not too. I'm afraid of needles so he took the boy in the other room.
The Doctor said he didn't even flinchSmile
By now the boy was ready to leave and got in his crateRolleyes
and had the last word he growled ,,,can't say I didn't blame him.
By now your probably all a sleep Smile
Congratulations on finding the right vet. I cannot imagine any vet stating the cat had to be put under to be chipped! If I'd have heard that, I'd have been out the door. Just don't forget to send in the registration for the chip.

Now, you can relax, knowing that Cello and Leyla have a caring vet's office and a pair of compassionate and knowledgeable vets.
The new vet sounds great Linda - you're lucky you found someone willing to be there for your kitties in an emergency without having to wait for days for an appointment.

Hermes was chipped with last years appointment for his boosters - I've never heard of a vet giving an anaesthesia for something as simple as chipping. Granted the needle is quite big, but it's done in a second and Hermes didn't even flinch - or bleed afterwards - so no big deal really.

I'm sure Cello was as brave as my boy Big Grin
It sounds like you've found a great vet Linda and I'm sure Cello and Leyla will be very happy with them, especially if they don't take Cello's temperature too often Big Grin
Congrats on the new vet!

It is hard to find someone you can rely on and trust but sounds like you found the best place.
Thanks Huggy for the heads up I did forget to register him it's done now.Smile
Leyla get to go next month to meet the Doc and be chipped.
Who would think finding a vet would be so hard.
I really like them and feel they have Cello and Leyla's best interest.
I noticed on there web page there haveing a party for all there clients Smile,,,there even haveing a special event for the feline group.
I don't think Cello or Leyla are interested in doing that much socializing but I may have to check it out")
It must be a relief finally finding a good vet! Now your babies are in good hands Smile
That's the best news ever, Linda! Ours waited to microchip Bubba until his neuter surgery b/c the canula was large and he said it would be painful.
Katleen,
I'm just happy I have him chip now and it is over for him.
Leyla is next and to be honest I don't want to see the needle I'm a big baby") about those thinks.
I started to cry in the office just talking about it:(So thank goodness the vet took Cello in the back room or I would have been on the floor ....lol nerves of steal here.
I'm so glad you found a vet that you can feel confident in. It really does make all the difference.
