Hi All,

Well I am down to 4 days!!! I cannot believe I'll be picking up Sophie on Saturday. Time for the most part, usually flys by, but not this time. My breeder emailed today and let me know that Sophie got through her surgey (spay) very well and is doing good. I don't know why I am so nervous. I've had cats and kittens my whole life, but somehow this seems different and I don't know why. Does anyone have these same feelings before picking up their baby? I even turned down a July 4th picnic since I would be out all day and probably not come home till pretty late on Sunday evening. My husband was very good about it and I think he actually understood I don't want to leave alone after only one day!

So let the countdown begin.....

Take Care

I was nervous too! I cleared the whole weekend to stay home with her and I'm glad I did. I think I was nervous partly about how things would go logistically and partly about whether or not the whole experience could live up to my HIGH expectations. I think getting a purebred cat is more anxiety provoking than other types because there is such a loooong build-up to the big event. It gives you lots of time to analyze and obsess! I think it is normal to have some anxiety. It just shows that you care a lot about your new kitten, and there's sure nothing wrong with that!

Congratulations on being down to 4 days! It does seem to go by slowly but 4 days is not a very long time and when you finally bring her home, you won't think about how bad the wait was anymore.
Glad to hear the spay went well! Its perfectly natural to feel nervous and anxious about taking your new kitty home, I'm sure Sophie will fall in love with you the minute she arrives home Smile only 4 more days! Big Grin
How great that it's only 4 more days. I'm sure things will go fine, although I remember how nerve wracking it was when I was bringing home my two girls. Hang in there....not much longer....
Carol.....I'm excited for you!! Luv the name Sophie....so precious.
Heck, I'm a breeder and I feel the same way when getting a new kitten.
Woohoo! So excited for you!
How exciting Carol,I remember when I went to pick mine up I didn't sleep the night before, hopefull you will be able to sleep.
It's such a big decision to get a new pet. However, with a pedigreed cat, there are so many more things to consider. Once the decision is finally made, it's so hard to not have the "finished product" in hand. It's like ordering an item and not knowing how it will fit, work, etc. before it gets to you. Just spend the next couple of days making everything great for Sophie. Enjoy!!!
I'm with Edie, it doesn't matter how many cats or kittens you have at home bringing in a new one is just as exciting each and every time. I hope your 4 days flys by and Sophie settles in and becomes a part of your family quickly. Enjoy every moment with her, and I don't think there is anyone on the forum who will say they don't understand why you turned down the chance to go to a party at the weekend Smile
