[attachment=1334]I realize it's hard to see what we're looking at there, but last night we found this spot on Stormy. It's not noticeable without brushing the furn up and we haven't felt it before but it's like a scab. It's about the size of a quarter and the fur is growing through it - it's not a bare patch. You can kind of see the edge of it. Stormy doesn't like us to touch it but otherwise is acting completely normal. We don't see him scratching or licking excessively ever. Any ideas??
Particularly based on the sensitivity, have a vet take a look. Probably not serious, but abscesses and tumors can be deadly dangerous.
I made it larger thought it may help.

Just wondering as I can't tell from the picture - is it on the back of his neck where you might have used a spot-on flea control medication?
No it's on his body. It's about 1/2 way between the space from his spine to his underneath by his ribs. I talked to the vet today & she said if it's not bothering him we'll look at it when he goes in for a check up in a few weeks. He hasn't had any flea medications applied. We were just surprised to find it. I wondered if it happened while he was at the vet but if it was an injury I know the vet would be aware and there would be fur missing.
Poor guy - he's been at the vet so much recently. How's he doing now. Does he seem to be totally over his blockage?

Yes! He's doing great. He's on the Purina Urinary wet/dry food, FortiFlora probiotics and antibiotics for another week. He's very healthy & happy! Thanks for asking!
That's great to hear. I just saw the pics you posted of him and he seems like such an easy going laid back boy. I'm glad he's healthy again.
I've no idea what the scab on his back could be but I'm so happy to read that Stormy is doing so well.
Could this be an irritated injection site that still has to heal over completely after his stay at the vets?
