I was wondering about everyones experience with these.
I know i will never again be giving my girl catnip made her go hyper to the point i had to shut her in the living room for 4 hours for some time out.. till she calmed down.
i've been looking into these other two...my reaserching on the net says valerian is alot milder and relaxes them but ive heard the same about catnip ...everyone has there own opinion about these it seems
Hi, I am a newbie Ragdoll owner. What exactly is the catnip for? Aren't Ragdolls calm by nature or is the catnip in regards to a kitten? Bella
I do not know about the effects of the other 2 plants you are speaking of, but catnip is very known for giving one of 2 responses. The cat will either become in a more relaxed (drunken) type state, or will become very active. I have heard in some cats it has made them angry and aggressive, but in others it has gave the opposite effect. Catnip is good to give some cats, as it a natural aid in digestion. I have a few that love to eat cat nip, and roll in it.

I would probably cease giving catnip, and try the valerian, since it was recommended by a vet, or not give any of the three.

In most cases there is a certain age that a cat will react to catnip, most young kittens have no reaction.

Let us know of your experiences with the valerian or honeysuckle if you try it.Smile
