Congrats on getting such a GREAT kitten! I know it can be a difficult choice, choosing between 2.
From your original post, I had a feeling that you wanted #1 by the way you described him. It's so hard not to 'overthink' it!
From your description, I would have said go with #1, so glad you did and so glad to hear you are so thrilled. (I bet someone is thrilled with the kitty you didn't take- they are each so special in their own ways!)
i reckon you should pick number 1 simply because you say that 1 played more gently than two. if number 2 plays roughly now think about when the kittens are grown up. Number 2's slightly rough behavior wont feel quite as harmless when its a huge adult

I picked up my beautiful blue ragdoll a few weeks ago and he has been an absolute joy! Thank you to everyone for the advice. His name is Finley and he is just the sweetest, most loving, cuddly, gentle, easy going, adorable kitten ever. He is incredibly friendly and interested in everything. He plays so gently and hasn't been any trouble at all (so far!!). I really can't believe how quickly and easily Finn settled in. He seems really happy all the time and just seems to go with the flow and to love everyone and everything. My only concern is that he hangs out with my pup (Cooper) so much that I'm pretty sure he's starting to think he's a dog (lol)! They both rush to greet people at the door, love car rides, shake paws, chew on bones, come when called, love belly-rubs, love visitors and play, sleep and eat together. Finley always watches Cooper and copies whatever he does. He'll even meow at Cooper if he wants something. If I start to brush Cooper then Finley either wants to be brushed too or wants to help me groom Coops - they really are cute together!

I'm so glad I went with my heart and chose Finley. When I visited him at the breeders he was so gentle and loving and had a great calm energy about him. The breeder told me he was the 'people lover' and the cuddly one, but also the one that seemed most relaxed and easy going, which is exactly how he has been since I brought him home. He adjusted so well and is so easy - a complete pleasure! So my advice to anyone faced with a choice between two kittens - definitely go with personality...the one with the 'right energy'...go with your heart...or just take both (as I'm sure everyone else on this site will tell you)!

Finley is my first cat and I can't imagine a better experience. It's been just less than a month, but so far it's amazing - I can't imagine loving my little guy any more than I already do!! Ragdolls Rule!!!!

Awwww, it sounds like you really made the perfect choice in Finn. I have a "mixed" family also of 2 dogs and 2 kits, this little herd of ours really all interact and love each other which just amazes me. I really find that the kits become very doglike, but I also notice that my pups bat with the paws more and have picked up some catlike ways also.
Much goodluck to you and Finn and Cooper!!
