Will my Boo become a cat one of these days? He still seems like such a kitten at 10 months. He doesn't like to sleep on me, like watching TV or anything. He lays with us but rarely on us. He likes to be loved but only for about 5 minutes and then he's off. Will he ever turn into a lap cat? I thought this breed was all lovers and while mine is sweet and loving he has no interest in cuddling or anything for more than about 5 minutes. Then he's off wanting to do something else or just sleep nearby. Is this him or the age? Thanks.

I too was dismayed when I got Miranda at 1yr of age and she wasnt a lap cat...but she gets close...part of her on the arm of the chair and the other part on my lap..(guess which part I get...lol) She always comes to bed with me ---sort of like a tuck in---and sometimes she makes it all night and other nights she makes her journies...but she uses the other side of my king bed as her toy box...I have come to the conclusion that she doesnt know she is a cat and thinks she is human...she sure is sassy! Thanks for your info Teddy. I'm still wondering though if my Boo will change as he gets older? He has to be where we are (like right now he's trying to sleep in a much undersized paper box on the desk here next to the computer) ALL the time, but he doesn't even sleep on my pillow anymore like he used to. Of course, he can't fit on it any more but still! He just has never been much of a lap sitter, and I am just wondering if that might change when he gets older or if this is how he's likely to be.

Hi there--I thought Miranda was just weird when I got her because she would not let me hold her nor would she sit in my lap...then slowly she came to tolerate holding and sweet talk...and she will park with me..on her terms...and that means her butt on me and upper half of her body on the arm of the chair...whatever...she never fully sits in my lap...as for sleeping..she is always changing there as well...for a long time she sleeps behind my headboard...then she switches up and its along side me in bed..on her back...with her head on the pillow..(really!) then she takes a rotation somewhere else in the house...dont know what she uses to determine her choices but she is always changing..all I can say for sure is that this little girl is not the least interested in other animals, squirrels, birds....she just walks away from the open patio door when they come to visit her...but any person coming in here is her best friend...you should see her with my 2 yr old grand daughter..omg...she just about knocks her down rubbing up against her...I have to be right there just because I dont really trust her...she is so much better about biting but she is still an animal and my grand is the priority right....just enjoy your Boo...they are so wonderful...weird or not!
