I'm sure you all have seen and read this before, but it's so beautiful it bears repeating. Sorry to everyone who has ever lost a pet..I've been there and she was my best friend. But I hope to see her again.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I can't read it without crying just a little.. I miss my Casey & Kirby <3
Yup just started crying. I miss all my little furry friends.
The Rainbow Bridge has always made me cry; so beautiful.

We lost our beloved Velvet last October. She was a black DSH and almost 16 years old. I couldn't even think about the Rainbow Bridge for months without crying.
I've also heard but never read about it. it's sad but it's a happy thing too because love lasts forever! Smile
Shew....had to take a little break after reading that...

Your timing is perfect for me. It was a year ago today that I took my beautiful Fiona to the Vet, knowing something was wrong. It will be a year on the 17th that we lost her.

I've always loved "The Rainbow Bridge"....today more than ever before.

Thanks again for posting it now...xo
I've never heard of that before, it's beautiful, it really touched me. I struggle with my beliefs sometimes, I don't come from a religious background, but I want to believe there is something more - I want to believe that I will see the loved ones I have lost again... including pets. The Rainbow Bridge story has made me incredibly sad thinking about my childhood dog, Penny. She was a wonderful soul and I would love to think I might see her again.
Reading that made me think about if I ever lost Bella i have tears in my eyes etc right now. just a beautiful poem
