I remember reading somewhere that Ragdolls are generally quiet cats, well my fellow is the loudest most demanding cat I have ever come across!!! He runs up and down the hall meowing (really loudly) for no reason for about a half an hour every night, its more of a yodleing sound than it is a meow. Everytime he wants something he looks and me and meows and meows and meows till I figure out what it is, which is generally food. Also he would eat all day long, I've never met a cat or dog for that matter that would eat as much as him, honestly if I left a constant supply of food, he would eat constantly
Anyone else got similar Ragdoll, or is mine just mad

Hi Leonie! Miranda is very vocal as well...has quite a variety of sounds for different purposes...including a whine and a yelp....lol...she has a special sound for early mornings that I envision is her "hunting call"....she is a hoot...when I first got her she was 1yr old and ate like a vulture...gained 3 lbs in 2 months...but then she leveled out...stopped eating like a fiend and her weight is steady...I credit that to a great food and proper nutrition..I am able to just feed dry and leave it out all the time for her to pick and choose as she wishes...that is awesome..no more wet food, sloppy dishes, food all over the floor...I just refill the dry when needed and be sure she has fresh water several times a day....awesome!! enjoy your boy~~Teddy
Most of our Ragdolls are vocal as well, some more than others. Most of the time they are quiet chirps and trills, but we have a couple that love to really converse with us and they can be louder. Many say that Ragdolls are a quiet breed, and I suppose next to the Siamese they are, but in my experience, many seem to be vocal.
Purrs,
Stormi
phew, was wondering was something up with him

Chirping describes exactly what he does
I feed him dry Royal canine and he would eat it all day long, get sick and go back for more if I let him, little fatso, he's HUGE, nobody believes me when I say he is only 10 months!!!
Both of our female ragdolls have their moments...usually when they want attention of a special treat. Our Tiki can be very demanding sometimes, kind of reminds me of a Siamese
Clyde, my 18-year-old senior, has this habit of 'yowling' every morning at about 5 a.m., and continuing for who knows how long. He has always been free fed, so it's not about food with him. Unfortunately I think he's a little disoriented and is trying to find me. He will quiet himself down when I go and get him, but then he's later off the bed and yowling from the other room again.... It's frustrating, but he's my old boy and I'll love and comfort him as long as he's still here with me....
My Boo yowls when he gets mad at his toys, when he gets mad that he can't get the birds outside, etc. He used to yowl to try to get us up in the morning too, but now he just brings his toys in on the bed and drops them instead. But he's never once yowled for food.

My 15 month old boy does the same thing, LOL. Luckily he only lasts a little bit and its only when he gets his nighttime crazies!! He runs all over the house till he tires himself out. Its pretty funny.
