Where is Dorothy (eeyoredag)

I've been thinking about her lately because she hasn't posted on the forum since christmas time!!

I hope all is well with her and teddy

I miss Dorothy, I hope she comes back online soon and of course that all is well.

I realized the other day too that she hadn't been posting! Where are you Dorothy?? I hope she hasn't forgotten about us!

She is fine. I talk to her everyday. She has been through alot with almost losing Tonka due to management at her complex. Let her know you are thinking of her.

Oh I'm glad that she's ok. I hope she pops back in soon.

Tonka was such a little cutie too.

I am sure she will pop in soon but if not know she is doing good.

Hello All, Thanks for asking about me. As Paula said we have had a rough 5 months with my apartment complex. We got a new district manager and maintenance man and in January all hell broke loose here with my babies. I moved back here from Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina and asked the then manager about having my birds, dog, fish, & lizard and all were accepted with me paying a pet deposit for all. I called this complex from Louisiana. I wouldn't have moved here if they weren't approved. Everything has been fine for the past 5 years till these new ones got here.

The DM wanted to me get "RID" as she said of all of them but ONE!! Tried to say I didn't evacuate here from Katrina with them. The manager said not with the cat or this dog but she did have a dog that passed away in September that she came with then. The DM wanted to see the proof in my file which she was showed and then she said that I had to get "RID" of Teddy & Tonka. Then since Peek-A-Boo had passed away her deposit went to Teddy and then we have Tonka. I got Tonka as a companion animal with a letter from my doctor to help me get out of the apartment. I did exactly as the manager said to do BUT I later found out she missed a required step which wasn't MY fault.

I wrote a letter the the vice president of the management company and the DM replied with I shouldn't have assumed that Peek-A-Boo's deposit would go to Teddy & I need to fill out the required paperwork & he needed to see the vet with the appropiate shots. That was already done and she knew that. Also I didn't ASSUME anything the manager TOLD me it would go to Teddy. Then she said that I should have gotten Tonka without prior approval from the management. I DID get prior approval and had the doctor's letter. I didn't sneak Tonka in here!! She said Tonka could stay till their ADA coordinator made the final decision whether Tonka could stay with another letter from my doctor. FINALLY in April, 3 months later the ADA coordinator approved Tonka so I thought all was well and we would be fine. WRONG!! The DM fired our manager to put in her own people the end of April and before the manager left she told me I should think about moving because the issure with Tonka is NOT over with and the DM was NOT happy about it. I CANNOT move I have NO where to move too!! IF I could move I would go back to Louisiana to live with my sister but her house is not wheelchair ready and I can't even go to the bathroom there without dragging myself on the floor!!
SO now I have been so afraid to leave the apartment because Tonka barks on and off while I'm gone and I am afraid one of the tenants that knows the DM will complain or say something to her and that will be what gives the DM her chance to take Tonka away from me. I am SO stressed out I don't sleep well. Tonka and I go running at 5:30am to avoid people. I run Tonka to the post office next door and around on the sidewalk for exercise. He is pee pad trained so we don't go out to go potty and thank God for that with all this going on now. I take my garbage out then too and so far I haven't figured out the laundry. I usually wait for the new managers to be off the property before I go out during the daytime hours. Then on top of all of that Myleigh my bearded dragon passed away. It hasn't been a good 2010 for me so far. SO that's what is going on in our lives right now.

On a very good note. Teddy & Tonka are growing like weeds and have changed a lot. Teddy had his first birthday on May 7th and is such a handsome boy!! He is SO patient with his annoying little brother!! Tonka is now 7 months old and has changed SO much in the last 5 months. His color has changed a lot and he looks like a different puppy. I have noticed he is changing again and when he is groomed next month will look a lot different AGAIN!! I told him he is my rainbow puppy!!

they are soo beautiful. cant believe teddy is grown up. he is a big boy now lol

It's great to see you back Dorothy - and Teddy and Tonka have really changed. It's great they are such good companions for each other and for you. I hope you can get things straightened out soon with your DMs so you're not under so much stress.
