Is there an age from which you can start given kittens toys with catnip in?? I didn't think it was "age restricted" but someone said to me the other day that you shouldn't give it to kittens under the age of 6 months as it can cause breathing problems?!?!?!?!
Really? This is an area I am not familiar with... we don't tend to give the kitties catnip anyway, they just seem to ignore it!
Our kittens have access to toys with catnip as soon as they are out of the nest.
I make knitted mice stuffed with catnip and all of my cats and kittens love them and we have never experienced any breathing problems. It may be that the advice relates to giving it them to eat but I haven't heard it before.
