Because I now have Percy at home, I have started putting some Royal Canin Baby Cat down for all of the cats. That's what the breeder had Percy eating.

Both adult cats LOVE Percy's kitten biscuits and would rather eat those, than their mix of adult biscuits. I have only been filling the bowls with a small amount of percys food, a couple of times a day (when percy is at his bowl), to make sure that the older cats are not eating it all on him

I have a couple of questions:

1. Edward is not even 2 years old yet so i figure he is fine to eat the kitten biscuits without a second though, HOWEVER, pussa has gained quite a bit of weight over the past year (some of it was needed) but now she looks a bit "too round". Will the kitten food cause her to gain more weight?

2. Should I stop her from eating the kitten biscuits somehow?

3. She is about 7 - 9 years old (not exactly sure as she was a stray) could the kitten food cause any sorts of health problems?

4. Royal Canin "baby cat" is recommended for kittens up to 4 months, is this an inappropriate kitten food to keep Percy on until he reaches 12 months? They seem to LOVE it!
The biggest "risk" in feeding kitten food to older cats is that it has higher phosphorous levels and that is not good for any cat with kidney disease - nor are higher protein levels. For healthy adults who are not dangerously overweight, it is fine. However, for ages of 8 and above it is worth thinking about. (We do allow our cats that age and older to sometimes eat kitten food based on their weight, overall health and our confidence in their kidney health.)
We have the opposite problem Meghan! They all seem to like the adult dental formula better (??). We mix them together with the kitten biscuits on top so Guin eats the kitten ones first. Silly cats Tongue
Mine two still eat baby food.We do a mix of royal Cain and california Natural
Cello could stand a little weight and well leyla lets just say she don't miss a meal")
If I put kitten and adult down in seperate bowls I can gaurantee that the adults will eat the kittten food and the kittens will be sitting struggling to chomp on the adult!! Big Grin

With regards to the Babycat Meghan, I would move Percy up to RC Kitten 36, which is the RC food specifically for kittens 4-12 months. The older cats probably prefer the Babycat because it is so small and easy to eat, the Kitten 36 is a little bit larger. With Percy only really needing it for the next 8 months if you mix it with their normal food I would have thought Puss Puss would be ok, just watch her weight!!

Good luck with tryong to feed them seperately, when you have discovered how please let me know Smile
