Does anyone use them? I have been tossing up whether to get a snugglesafe or electric heating pad, especially for newborn babies. Both are around the same price so is there a real difference? Snugglesafe doesn't have cords the kitties can chew on, but am wondering if they will lose heat too quickly. Most electric heating pads come with "chew-proof" cords and they maintain temperature. Actually what is the optimum temperature the heating pad should be for newborns? And for adults in winter? Thanks

Mom and littermates should provide enough warmth. Electrical devices that can malfunction are a danger and you always want to allow room for the kittens to get away from the heat as needed. Some prefer a bag of microwaved rice which cannot get any hotter than when it is placed in the nest.
We have and prefer an incubator/ICU, which is a very reliable at maintaining heat. Even it should be tested over a long period before use with kittens to make sure - and still monitored carefully.

Wow that's some incubator! Kind of makes me want to be a vet all over again

We have it and an oxygen concentrator ready for each birth just in case. We have used the ICU, but have not needed the oxygen.
Yes I can see it has attachments for oxygen and an IV drip? Very neat.
