We went in for our doctor's appointment today and they did an ultrasound! We were so excited, and I cried while we got to see our baby for the first time

Doc says everything looks good and normal, though I had some lab work done today that said I might have diabetes (I go in for further work tomorrow so fingers crossed that I don't!).
Here's our first picture of our little baby! She looks pretty relaxed to me, with her little arm behind her head
It was easier to see her on the screen and in our actual picture (scan doesn't really do it justice) but I figured you can see her little face in profile

Everything looks great and a healthy heartbeat.
Hello little one! Thanks for sharing this beautiful moment

She does look quite comfy in there! I think its common for women to get gestational diabetes, your doctor should be able to help you manage it if you do have it. Such a clear picture, I can see the outline of her head!
Oh my gosh! You can see her little head! When did you guys find out it is a girl?!? I must have missed another post perhaps..
That is so cool!!!! I can't imagine how exciting that must be to get your first glimpse of your baby.
Oh Jenny, she is precious already! This is a much clearer shot than I ever got of my 2, thank you so much for sharing. You must both be beaming

. I agree with Jo, the diabetes is probably gestational and they'll help you with that.
Thanks everyone! It was absolutely amazing, seeing a picture of such a precious gift inside me! Actually made it feel real

Alisha, we're not 100% positive its a girl, but we did an Intelligender test that's supposed to be pretty accurate and that came out as a girl

Hopefully we'll know for sure at the 20 week ultrasound! I couldn't believe how clear it was either Kitty! Most people show me those and say look at my baby and I'll say "oh my gosh, that's awesome" (while in reality I'm scratching my head thinking "what on earth am I supposed to be seeing??"). The doc didn't seem too concerned with the diabetes, but I'm hoping I won't have to deal with it. I'm having a hard enough time already giving up medium rare steaks and sushi!
ahh gestational diabetes. you you will be fine im sure if u even have it your sugar may just have been high that day.
are you getting a baby belly yet??? can we have photos. i love seeing it develop soo cute.
AWWW!!!Jenny I can't see the picture

Iam sure she or he is a gorgouse gift.
Jenny seeing the picture of your baby is so exciting. They didn't have ultrasound when I was pregnant. This makes it so much more fun.
Ah that is relaxed for sure. I was borderline when I was pregnant years ago. My DIL does get the diabetes. It usually goes back to normal once the baby is born. You will be able to do whatever they want because you know this is a special gift as I say on loan from God. We always do so much for our babies whether human or animals because they deserve it.
Well can't wait til that day comes and we can see the real thing.
Good luck.
